Got tired of untangling chains, broke down and bought a chain locker.. Takes up to 60" chains by doubling them over the end.

When I read chains, my mind went to logging/skidding chains not saw chains, so I had no idea how they were fitting in a ziplock bag! Wow its been a long week!!

My first thought was the 16 foot length of 3/8 inch chain which is in the bed of my truck.

I've wanted to get that for my dad. It's so expensive though, I can't bring myself to do it...

I keep a spare chain or two in the tool box wrapped and tied in old cloth nail aprons from the days of yore. If your looking for a gas jug you can't beat the EasyPour brand. I've tried a lot of them but these really work well and as advertised. Need a separate oil jug though.

Stuff like that is fine till you have to hike and carry all your gear with you it’s either one of the combo cans with some rope or two clear jugs with rope to tie them together. One other bonus is you can clip stuff onto the rope like a large water bottle freeing up a hand to pushing brush out of the way.
