Good morning! 32˚F sunny, light North wind heading to 60˚.

Mostly, hope you are feeling better today. I have 3 EGO batteries (2 small, 1 large) and 2 fast chargers so I can continue without taking charge breaks. Mowing the front and side yard took an incredible amount of time because I was bagging all the dead grass. Mowing from 5 height to 2 height I had to empty the bag every 10'.

Not enough hours in the day to get seat time in yesterday.
Since Friday is garbage day I have to keep track of days.

Tesla in Austin is expanding it's Giga factory and spending another $770 million. They will be manufacturing the futuristic looking Cyber Truck there this year.

Drew, you need to get ScaredyChicken as your wingman.

Good Morning!!!! 55F @ 6:00AM. Cloudy with periods of rain. High 57F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall may reach one inch. Locally heavy rainfall possible.
Saturday sounds like even more fun, with both wind and flood advisories in effect. But now the 10-day is showing dry for the end of the period.

Town run yesterday went pretty much as planned. Very few people masking up these days in spite of increasing CV19 infection rate. I forgot to wear mask at one store, but remembered for the rest. Sanitized hands every time I got back into the truck, and the grocery cart, too. Similar precautions last year got me through the season without even a head cold. Be nice if the same thing happened this year.

Changed the oil, oil filter, air filter, and fuel filter in the truck when I got home. The EZ Drain plug on the oil pan wouldn't stay open on it's own, so I got to hold it open against spring pressure with a pair of pliers while laying on my back until almost four gallons of hot oil drained. I'd have put the original drain plug back in if I could have found it. Ordered a new one, along with a handfull of crush rings. Always worried about knocking the thing off while off roading, or a vandal crawling under there and draining the oil for a joke. Good riddance.

Sorry to hear about your poor Verizon experience, Paul. I'm a long time cellular customer, too, and have always had great service. But it's been more than ten years since I had to talk to them on the phone. My, how times have changed, and not necessarily for the better. I had an experience similar to yours when I got a "free" trial subscription to T-Mobile cellular internet. Coverage was intermittent, and even though I cancelled after three days, it took almost six months to get them to stop billing me.

If the rain holds off long enough, I wanna get the rest of the hardware cleaned up off the back patio, and maybe even what's left of the chimney chase, too. If not, there's plenty to do out in the garage.

I've never had much problem with Friday the thirteenth. Plenty of trouble on the twelveth and fourteenth, though. For example, yesterday I got the insurance estimate, and it was just over half of what the contractor came up with. Talked with the claims administrator, and he's gonna have a chat with the contractor next week to find out if there's a middle ground. Hope they get it cleared up, as I want the work to take advantage of the dry spell coming up next week.

TGIF gang!

Good morning to all! Low of 23°, going up to 51° today. Should be sunny and calm today and tomorrow. Then Sunday brings big changes. Chances of rain, then snow S, M, T. We could possibly get 12" of snow by Tues.

Might give me a chance to try out the newly installed 'edge tamers' on the tractor bucket. I better go over the tractor and make sure its ready. Probably wouldn't hurt to give a few squirts of fresh grease.

Buppies, hope you're past / over the worst part of the crud.

Mostly, hope the GI upset is past now.... maybe something bad you ate?

Kilroy, that supervisor looks pizzed off..... wants to know what's taking so long....

BEF, yes, doing things mid week really messes with the somewhat partial recall of what day it is.... the holidays really mess with the ability to remember. Knocked me off by about 3 days....

Drew, you are absolutely correct about lack of maintenance that gets done these days...... remember that society has demanded cheap disposable items. Who needs to do maintenance on something that will just get thrown away?
I, for one, go way overboard on maintenance. I could probably do half as much and still be good to go.

Going to get my butt moving.... there's a list sitting on the table that I'm looking at......

Everyone have a great day!

"Very few people masking up these days in spite of increasing CV19 infection rate"

If you have a good mask it is supposed to protect against flu too. It sounds like some of you guys got bit hard by something. It would be well worth it to avoid getting that sick.

I hope those who are feeling sick get better soon!

Verizon service is good here.... notice I didn't say "customer service".....

I have given up on trying to get a "glitch" out of my phone. It keeps giving me 'warnings' that my memory for the 'cloud' is used up..... REALLY? there's less than half being used.
After waiting hours, even the tech that remotely accessed my phone, couldn't figure out why.... My Ipad and phone are tied together via bluetooth to transfer pics and data.... the Ipad shows correctly. Phone will no longer transfer to the Ipad because "the cloud storage is full".... no, its not......

Maybe some day I'll re-visit the problem. For now, I don't need the frustration of dealing with 'customer service' again.

good morning all, 42 going to 49 great looking day

Slept in some which is good. Got the barn cats fed, the dog walked, the fire started, coffee made, helped wife get up and dressed. Got her settled in the easy chair and comfortable.

Looking, when working in Bullhead City AZ long time ago someone picked me up to take me to work on the other side of Colorado River ( Nevada side ) and I asked him if he wanted some breakfast and he said I have it with me and it was a six pack of beer that he drank on the short drive to work. Wow, never used him for ride after that

Maintaining an oil burner is not that difficult. I keep spares on hand for the flame sensor, ignition parts, the 24 volt transformer for the thermostat, cut off relay and filters. Keeping the path for the flame sensor clear is important.

RNG, I had the same experience with T-Mobile. Tried to set up service for an outside camera but it did not work so canceled it but they kept on billing. Similar to health spa membership that kept on billing and had to cancel credit card to get rid of it

Good news on the daughter hooking up with released from jail guy. She finally realized her pattern ( we told her about for years ) that she hooks up with the same types, exciting red light types that don't work, that will never amount to anything except trouble. She kicked him out and has set up counseling with someone that gave her a lower rate to take her on.

Mostly, hope it is a short lived bug and you will feel better soon.

The Hay Budden anvil is one of the best made in the US and they are numbered with serial number so you can find out what year it was made. One of the tests for a good anvil is to drop a ball bearing ball on it and watch for a good rebound

In the news a blacksmith has been commissioned to fabricate and install the entry doors to the new Fort Ritchie History Museum. Dmitrii Volkov is a Russian immigrant that was chosen based on his inspiring designs incorporating the water falls from the dammed lake and stone buildings on the site. See also:

63°F and no rain.

A modicum of success yesterday with my initial section of posts set in place and secured. The basis for continued progress. Expect to get at least the 2nd section set today.
One of those lessons I’m learning to accept. I don’t get as much done or done as quickly anymore. That used to bother me a bit, but in perspective I think I get more done at my age then many, excepting the Good Morning crew that is.

Gotta love the diversity of discussion here. What an opportunity to learn!!!!

H&F and dinner at friends later. The gals will be poised for payback.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
