Good morning!!!!

Poured first cup of coffee. 29° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 38° with cloudy skies. Snow fell overnight. Enough to make grass areas white. Drive and walkways are just wet. Got caulking done. While I had caulk gun out used infrared thermometer gun and checked for air leaks. Found a couple. I have lived in this house for over 50 years. Air leaks are like mice. Close one off, Find another.
Going to work on adding electrical box to each of my machines in shop to plug a work light into. Tired of electrical cords running all over shop for work lights.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
chilly out, 25, only high of 44 today

off to visit MIL this morning, hopefully last time I see her in rehab, she is headed back to her apt on Monday.
She will be so depressed today, trying to cheer her up.
while her roommate doesn't have a CPAP machine like a jet engine, the last two roommates would lose nurse call button and start yelling
for nurse in middle of night. You don't get much sleep in those places...

then off to visit friend who I promised I'd help with first (actually second) test of her portable gen and home interlock. Nice install of 10kw gen similar to mine, and electrician
did a really nice job of building in a one amp smart charger on the battery. I was impressed. Going to use same electrician myself next month. I was explaining why my friend needed to put
a smart charger on her gen electric start battery once in a while, and here the electrician had beat me to it. Running on 30 pound propane bottles, she should be fine for short outages.

my brother still sick and hacking. Neighbors still sick and hacking. Trying to stay away from folks...hard to do during holidays.
Ordered more cough drops, for house presents...

have a great weekend.
may your day be as bright as this sunflower

Good morning, low temp 5 and the high to 23°F. Wind ENE 11 mph. Sunny!

Although the rest of Canada measures the temperatures in C, I never caught on to it. I still do it in °F. That is how I was educated and it about the only part of my education that stuck. Besides that how come Celsius and Fahrenheit are so far apart on positive temperatures and yet at -40 they are the same?
I can change from kilometres to miles pretty quickly, and I have the formula to change from Litres to U.S. or Imperial gallons.

Good shot of the woodpecker, Ron.

It is too cold for me to do much of anything outside, so today is an energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

Don, glad you went bowling. Not sure my arthritic fingers could hold the ball anymore but it really is fun.
We had a local place, across river in NJ, I remember as a kid renting bowling shoes there. I think it was 25 cents a game, 15 cents to rent
shoes and then you had to search all over for a ball with holes that fit your fingers. Having your own ball must have made bowling more fun.
Today personal hygiene issues have probably changed that whole scenario. I haven't bowled in a long time.
Can you still rent shoes? Booties? I'm sure they don't want their lanes messed up.

Bill, stay warm.

Good day (already) !

Weather Centrum has told here is -12 C. Car showed even -14C ( 7 F). cold came in combination with fog and now on vegetation is hoarfrost (not sure is this the right word)
View is spectacular, really worth to live in north just because of that view

Today I have no rest from socialization. Wife's colleagues came to our house for sabbath
Actually really nice ladies. Maybe I have told already - my wife is administrative director of national paramedic service. And those are their closest friends from there for already 20 years. Some of them are from HQ either, some are medical management team, some already at pension. I am making jokes with them with that "sabbath" once in 5 years, and that some of them are like old aunts to me. :ROFLMAO:
After a glass of wine sometimes they share really mindblowing stories from their professional life. I guess you can imagine what kind of stories emergency response teams can gather ...

Later I have to figure out how too plug back hydraulic quick connectors for snow plow. Those things are frozen dead. Maybe have to clear room in garage to warm up tractor.

40 going to 45. Good day to get the chainsaw out and give it a little work.

gs, nice looking car...I always loved Sunbeams growing up.

scootr, my other favorite as a kid was the Cobra.

Great stories, Buppies. I haven't been to Botetourt in a few years, but did see on the NPS website where the BRP had been closed in a couple of spots.

Don, hope you're not sore from bowling...that gang singing sounds like fun (on an old Bing Crosby Christmas carol, he talks about gang singing, when everyone joins in).

Decided to change out the batteries on the smoke detectors yesterday...usually do it around the solstice, as a reminder, since daylight savings time isn't a half year anymore. Up and down the ladder six times isn't mountain climbing, but I could dream. My wife and I went on our annual Christmas tree hunting hike...found one she likes. (y) It's one I planted years ago...a buck rubbed it hard back then, but it grew back just fine. Now just need to pick a time to put it up, and then I'll go cut it.

0 degrees Celcius equaling the freezing point of water makes sense.
Since agriculture depends on not freezing, and we sure need agriculture to survive,
knowing the freezing point seems to be a priority for many things. Including being outside.
I'm sure there's a historical story as to why someone made that standard.
F&C for temps, Metric and SAE for machinists and construction. Competing standards.
Not to mention time zones and DST. Makes one wonder what our world would be like if we
were all on the same time.

Since so much stuff comes from China, the metric standard seems more relevant now.
good thing most digital thermometers have a F/C button.

Metric makes a lot of sense for machinists.
just means we have to have two sets of wrenches and sockets.
Unlearning F is hard

great pic Helo.
7 degrees mighty cold for most of us. But sure makes a winter wonderland.
thanks for the pics
have fun with your aunts.

Finally took the bandages off the foot and gave it a good scrubbing. I don't know if it is healed or the injection is still active but will find out on the followup visit next week.
Walk softy no slopes steps if you can avoid.
