Good morning!!!!

55F and "Fair" @ 11:30, heading up to a high of around 66F for the day. Looks like winds are fairly calm. Good chance (60%) of rain coming in late tonight, probably around midnight or later.

Ten Day shows four day of high temps in the 70's in the forecast (but lots of clouds) ... (y)

Will use one of those days to put the PHD on the Kubota and drill some holes for the trees and red bushes and get those in the ground. Still have some other stuff that needs planted as well.

Also need to replace the bearings on one wheel of the dump cart.

Woodpeckers tapping on the siding, probably should check hopper feeder. Need to move nyjer feeder pole and feeders from around back and refill those.

Main agenda item for today will be to finish up gutter covers on backside of pole barn.

Hope to get The Woman start coating the edges of the 2 x 8 x 14's with BLO.

May dispatch Her down to Menards at some point to pick up the order for the door jamb and trim. Probably before She really gets started on anything here.

She got gas for the Cub while She was out yesterday so I'll need to unload that from the car and get it put in the Cub. It will likely be the last ethanol blend gas that goes in the Cub this year. Once I have it run out, I'll put some E0 in for the winter.

Beyond that maybe cut some more foam board panels for the interior perimeter of the barn.

Have some grading work to do outside to eliminate a spot that has standing water.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Sunday ... (y)

RS, I'm serious about a fish tank. They have all in one kits or build your own.
In past have owned a 6, 20 and 55 gallon one. 20-30 is right size now, have to get a stand for it.
I have a Petco and a Petcity or something nearby and they both have aquariums.
Also need a place to buy fish and all the little accessories.

Have had issues in past where one sick all sick, so while would be nice to have a holding/isolation tank, whatever I buy will
get dumped in. I wonder if they have a chemical to put in bag with new fish, their version of a covid shot...

fish are fun, but they do die pretty regularly. Am guessing the shortest life "pets" we have.
RS, how long do your fish live?

now put a turtle in there and it could outlast me easily.

Ken, that would take some serious mods to make it work

I called an electrician a week ago, wife calls back last night, no longer taking on any new work.
Landlord has same problem getting electricians out. More kids need to go to tech school.
So now exhaust fans and lights in living room and no one to put them in. Will start calling on Monday.

backordered hose blower-outer finally came.
got one bag of grub killer down, next bag in Spring.
Apple orchard nearby died in wool Kubota folks. Now I see what they plant their trees with. Looks like they are building something new.

Good afternoon, low temp 48 and the high to 55°F. Wind S 9 mph. Mainly sunny!

Around these parts they use Perma-Chink for chinking on log homes. It is stupid expensive.

Today is an energy conservation day. Tomorrow will be the monthly trip to North Bay.

Have a safe day all

69°F and .09 inches rain.
Productive day yesterday. Couple of hours mowing before having to switch to cooking. Roast cooked a bit faster than planned, more medium than rare, but everyone had seconds and kept saying how good it was.

First pot of coffee with the new machine. Do believe we’re gonna like it.

Lenny had a fun time mowing with Sophie’s BX, even asked if he can finish with it today.

Nice visit with our friends.

Plan to watch a bit of football today then back on the tractor, try to get Laupahoehoe end all flailed.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good morning to all! Low of 34°, going up to around 60°, sunny. Light breezes.

I did find some mojo yesterday..... apparently I left it on the nightstand.....
Couple of oil changes done, one more for today. Loaded up the pellet stove and cleaned the burn box / glass. 2 bags of pellets down already..... and that's just turning it on to "take off the chill".... hope I purchased enough for the season.

Wifey got up around 06:00 this morning (our normal) --- I rolled over and slept GOOD for another 3 hours! Surely, a very rare occurrence!

Kyle, your son sure looks proud of that Bass.... and he should be!

Paul, nice setup on the press! I would like to do that to mine, but really don't use it enough to justify the time or expense.

BEF, nice pics! Beautiful trees / colors.

Thomas, I can see the skid marks from your back pockets dragging......
apparently the wifey put you on longer leash?

Drew, the best tank that I ever setup was a 55 gal salt water tank. Expensive, but really pretty with the live corals and such. Longest lived fish was an angel fish (can't remember which type) for about 4 years. At that point, all that was left was a snowflake moray eel. I sold it back to the pet store, then sold the tank. ---- way too much work at the time.

I have to head out to the grocery for a couple of needed items, then try to get that last oil change done.

Gonna grill up some prime NY strips, baked potatoes, ??? other sides, for dinner. Have some ciabatta rolls that will get warmed up.

Everyone have a great day!

Went out and got a couple gallons of gas for the mower...$4.09 per gallon!!
Didn't need any diesel (yet), but the price was $5.99 per gallon!!!!
This is insane...and is going to affect home heating oil prices too...as well as dramatically increasing groceries prices...
Damn...this country is in deep sh*t!!!

Got windshield washer fluid for the tractor (yesterday). Deere mounted a bracket just above the reservoir filler...no way to just pour it in without spilling most of it. That was pretty stupid. I just ordered a funnel with a flexible tube...be here in a day or two.

Wife and stepdaughter going out...I'm going to grab a snap (short nap) and when they return, continue my chores (tractor greasing and some mowing)

There was not enough dirt to level up with for the woodshed so decided to work on that for a couple hours but first had to tighten up the tracks on the excavator by pumping in some grease in the cylinder for the track tension. After that scraped some dirt off a slope and moved it down for fill. Still need more but will stop at this for now.

Roy, I saw a sign for diesel in Doylestown, the county seat, for $6.09
glad I prepurchased fuel oil, at a whopping 4.69 a gallon. Looks like spot market will be at least another dollar more.
And who knows what gets turned off, or blown up next. We do not need a Ukrainian reactor mishap.
We will likely get abused by the Arabs though. What happened to all that oil up in Canada?
perhaps I'm going to get the hook for even mentioning it...

I wonder if refinery capacity is an issue. Follow the money. The system is ripping us off again.
Will hasten the conversion to EVs.
All those folks who bought a diesel to save fuel are really get penalized. Diesel should cost less than regular.
Sure doesn't. Premium is at 4.69 locally.

In heaven greed is eliminated and no one charges a penny more than they need to
aahhhhh

I always thought pumping grease was an ingenious way to tighten crawler treads. Apparently fairly common.
that's nice looking topsoil M7040

So the snack for lunch was peppers that were roasted on the grill on high heat until all black on the outside. Then peeled and in olive oil overnight. Delicious.
When I worked in Saudi many moons ago they burned off gas from the oil wells all over the place. It was like daylight to land at night and could be seen for miles. What a waste. But gas for cars was free for us. And the desalination plant we constructed on the beach was run by crude and natural gasoline from crude oil and also could run on Ethane and Methane.
Still remember 17 cents per gallon gasoline and free promotion gifts for filling up on top of that

Most refineries are offshore, has to do with paying taxes where it transfers/bought as final product.
Also why very few refineries built here.

Drew, are these lights etc. new wire runs or replacements? I won't do new work, but replacements I do all the time.
If it's new, want me to check with the guy who put in my lights and see if he has time?

Took the dog to peddlars village where she got lovingly mauled by groups of children. Gets her exercise and the kids love the little corgi.

Home and relaxing, feeling much better but still worn out, figures I will feel fine in time for work tomorrow

Kid is feeling better, so going out with friends and then taking over our basement later.
That won't be quiet. So no rest until they leave...might just hide in the other garage or apt.
