Kyle bad weather line heading your way. Tornado hit 10 miles north of us, tornado sirens sounded, and they herded the card players to inner walls. Winds 60 mph, 18 wheelers blown over on Hwy35 near Jarrell where the tornado was spotted on radar. We got 1.2" rain in 30 minutes.

Actually she is very careful what she eats. No beef etc and all gluten free. She does watch diet pretty closely.
The best book for what needs to be done and eaten is Caldwell B. Essselstyn, Jr. M.D. "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease".
Gluten is not really a factor but all animal products are and oils are also bad. My brother stopped eating beef and it did not help one bit because he substituted other meats he died at age 57 from heart disease. The amount of cholesterol in red meats compared to "white meats" is less but very little. If you eat one more bite of white meats they would be equal.

Good evening all. 70ºF for the start, rain, .1 inch in gauge. High temp was 75ºF at 12:01 AM, low at 1PM 58ºF Rain most of the day, heavy at times, .9 inch more in gauge at 8PM. More rain in forecast for Friday. Puttered to start day, was going to firehouse and work on battery replacement when wife annouced we were going rug shopping. We ended up going to 5 places, no luck. Most places did not carry size we need, the one place that had bigger rugs, they were priced from $1200 to $1900 and she had $500 spending limit. Did get good dinner at Red Lobster. Seems like Randy and I have the same weather at the moment except our temp is a good deal warmer and very muggy. Thunderstorm early this a.m. and then sunshine and presently 30 deg C. It was a hot night last night too. kicked the blankys off. Too hot and muggy for clothes LOL.
I appreciate all the prayers and well wishes for Lesley. Thank you. I will pass them on.

2022-10-25,

56° right now...high in the upper 60's and light rain today...

Bought a new hat...came in a couple days ago. I really like the Fedora and Trilby style of hats (must be nostalgia for the '40's and 50's). The picture is of a Stetson Trilby style hat. It appears to be made from a weathered leather.
Started wearing hats (or "cover" in the military) when I was in the Navy as one was required to wear a cover when outside or certain ceremonial activities. Got used to wearing a hat...mostly ball caps. I guess it was about 10-12 years I tried more "formal" hat styles...
BTW, the "bull" hat shown in my avatar (picture was taken and avatar post 20+ years ago)..a gift from my wife 20some years ago. Still got it, don't wear it...

David, my son wants to know when off season is in Hawaii. He wants to plan a trip.

Guess, define off season to start. I would guess summer would qualify. We have nice mild winters, but our rainy season. Think we see more tourists in winter than summer.

47 and foggy. Going to 73.

Roy, nice looking new hat. But, please don't change your avatar...the bull is so cool.

Mostly, you could have killed 2 birds with 1 stone...Costco sells area rugs...although I haven't seen them in the stores in a while. They have them online, sortable by size, color, etc. I just looked, they have a lot under $500.

Sodamo, hope you get some rest today. 4 overheads is a lot.

I'm planning on a rest day. I did demolition of the remainder of a section of a shelter that a tree took down a while back. Saved some lumber, but had a full pickup bed, including the household trash and recycles. Waiting for my big thank you kiss from my wife. I don't think she noticed when she got home last evening. Maybe the homemade soup was the thank you?
