Good morning! 67˚F heading to the upper 80's, cloudy. Starting to feel like summer again, Fall has fallen away.
My suspicion was right. The campfire non-availability on the Farm's website was because of the burn ban not because they sold out. Before the burn ban all late night Saturday campfires were sold but the early campfire still had 50% to sell. No more campfire for the Fall festival, but the aerial fireworks are still permitted.
They are still working on the burned giga beer keg, I don't know if they will have it operational this week.
Good thing there was not a storm or Island on the train trip BEF.
Popgadget, I'm confident you will be able to handle any emergency or obstacles that comes up today at the wedding, now that the weather is not an issue.
Remember when Rick's VFD assisted in prescribed burns and brush pile burnings and I told our VFD not to be involved because of liability issues.

Don, sounds like political grandstanding to me. Locals didn’t like the forest service’s controlled burns.

same one, never got built, long story, won't get used til next year and last time I tried to build it I had stomach problems.
Friend coming to help next Tuesday afternoon, will be nice to get it built and leaned up out of the way.
Trying to get stuff cleared out so I can fit car in there. Not much room in the inn.

Got the sofa, made the dump run...no haircut (shop had too many customers to wait).
That leaves the mowing and rigging the snow gear on the Deere. Still a bit wet to mow...maybe a snap (short nap) for an hour or so...

Good morning, busy making sausage and peppers and potato salad for movie night tonight.
PopG- The married couple will always remember the funny stuff that went wrong, so don't stress so much and just hope the stuff that goes wrong is one of the guests spills a glass of wine on themselves or something else simple. The setup looks amazing and I'm sure the important stuff will go exceptionally well.
Off to stack fuel for the fire.

Another day ahead looking forward to minor accomplishments. My buggy yesterday was a box to hide the propane bottle I installed for the remodeled suite. Today ???
There has been a fair amount of discussion in the past of leg cramps and various remedies. Lately, my complaint is a lower leg pain, usually both legs, low including ankles. Kinda sharp, like all the way into the bone, not the muscle. Not what I think of as a cramp, but maybe so. Shifting doesn’t help. I actually have to get up, walk around a bit. Usually a trip to bathroom will suffice. The other night I was up 3 times, driven by the leg pain not bathroom necessity.
While I usually don’t drink much late to avoid bathroom trips, those would be preferred over the leg pain. Guessing it must be sleep related as never a daytime problem. While this has occurred from time to time in last year or so, now it has been nightly for the last week plus. Anybody?

About 10 years ago, I had one of the somewhat extensive heart studies, one that involved a number of tests over a couple of appointments, last being the treadmill. At the outbrief, mention of decreased vein function/activity in my lower legs ( I’m sure there was a proper term used) as the only area of note, otherwise my heart was in excellent shape. The only recommendation was he could prescribe compression socks. Or I could just buy on my own. I did wear for a bit, but never felt a difference, so stopped. Think I’ll try them again.

Slow to get rolling this morning - wasn't much on the tube last and The Woman and I discovered Amazon's Tolkien Rings of Power and watched a couple of episodes. I was bad and watched several more after She went to bed ...
Hooked up compressor in barn and gave it a test run yesterday.
Got the block of foam board (27 pieces) moved inside the barn yesterday afternoon and set up the table saw to cut it, cut off some of the shrink wrap.
Woman got the original work table and all the items on it all cleaned off and vacuumed.
Got the table relocated after that so I can get to the walls/perimeter of the building.
Started digging out the dirt on the north wall that was placed against the original foam board that's tacked to the skirt boards, ran into a root from the black locust tree that was growing next to the building in the front. Started digging that up only to discover that it runs at least 35' into the building (building is only 42' deep), still haven't reached the end.
My plan for today was to start back on the gutters (low wind) by blowing them out with the Stihl and then, depending on their condition, hose them out and start installing the gutter covers.
However that plan has been complicated by The Woman reporting that we have no water pressure (after doing some laundry and taking a shower and doing who knows what else)
I ran down and shut the pump off immediately so it's not running dry. Maybe give it an hour or so to let the bore recharge then see how it looks.
October is typically one of the lowest months for rainfall here, so it's not entirely surprising ... although I'm not really sure how this particular month stacks up historically.
Getting someone trained to realize that there is not an inexhaustible supply of H2O has been a never-ending challenge.
No shortage of other stuff to do, so it's not like we'll be lacking for something to keep us occupied.

But the fact the burn did burn another farm leads more credibility to a reckless act. Our counties VFD has a lot of calls out to control burns that got out of control. That should not happen, usually a unpredicted wind is in the mix but that is why the counties have to institute burn bans - because common sense is not so common.

Drew, the jellyfish are a recurring event. Happens after every Full moon. Don’t recall they figured out why. Was never a problem back when I lived on Oahu. They hang around 2-3 days. Terrible sting.
I’ve heard the iguanas are pretty good eating. My friend, Keith, who moved from the Keys used to hunt them.
