Now Roy, you need to stay away from Tijuana.... ;)

not meant as a slight to our Mexican friends...but as teenagers in health class in high school, as
crude and outdated as it was back then, sexually transmitted disease always involved an example of a US sailor going to Tijuana (Manila?) For us, it was Olongapo City (near Subic Bay) in the Philippines
and coming back with a disease.
And then we were told KYPIYP
keep your you know what in your pants
that was the sum total of sex education in high school.
thankfully it's gotten better....

Roy, I take tamsulosin also. Can never get the dose right. Too much, hard to pee, not enough, too easy to pee, leakage.
Plumbing just isn't what it used to be...
You can always tell a squid (sailor) to keep it in his pants, but...we never did...

So far, seems like the tamsulosin is doing it's job

Good Morning.
34 and going to 65 without a cloud in the sky. It’s going to be a perfect day for an outdoor wedding.

Yesterday started early, with a delivery of heaters for the tent. Then pretty much on the run all day. Has to deal with all the meat in the smoker, it was ready before noon. Got the pork shredded and, and the briskets wrapped and into the Cambro, which was preheated with a stockpot of boiling water. It worked great, took the pans out and put them into chafers that were preheated, you would never know that it was cooked 5 hours prior.
We had enough food to feed an army, but only one battalion showed up. Tons of left overs, had a whole brisket unsliced, scrambled to call nearby people to give it to while it was warm. Pork stores well, so I could pack into containers to reheat later.
Drew or Ken, stop by and pick some up.

Rehearsal went pretty well, had some issues with microphones and essentially poor technique, finally resolved by using a hand held with a little coaching. A few other teething problems in other areas, but we are pretty much ready to go.

At this point it’s a stunning venue, but way more work and cost than just renting one. But it was never about saving money, time or work. My son and DIL got engaged here, and the farm is very much a part of their lives. My grandson is the 5th generation to live on this property, and the son that is getting married today will get my house when I’m done with it. As a mechanical engineer, he will see that the shop is put to good use.

Hopefully I’ll have some pictures to post, yesterday was too hectic to take any.

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 4:30AM.
A mix of clouds and sun. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 71F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
I think I heard rain drops on the steel porch cover earlier tonight, but there wasn't enough to register in the gauge. Conditions are looking like we'll have a Public Safety Power Shutoff for Sunday afternoon, with dry northerly winds causing problems for the power lines. First one this year, but probably not the last.
I just bought close to 40lbs of brisket for 3.89 lb. I thought that was pretty reasonable. They were whole packers, flats were almost twice that price.
I saw beef prices in excess of forty dollars a pound. Don't remember what cuts, but probably tenderloin. I was able to bring home some New Yorks for much less than that, but still about double what they used to cost.

Not long after I posted yesterday, I got the chills and some body aches to let me know the latest aligator dose was working. Napped through most of it, had some lunch, and spread the rest of the gravel on the steepest part of the driveway in hopes it'll improve traction when wet. There was a chance of rain today, and maybe again tomorrow, but probably not.

Not sure what I'll get into today, but there are plenty of choices.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

chills and body aches. That doesn't sound so wonderful. Make you a tiny bit sick so you don't get terribly sick or die.
wish they could engineer out the sick part. Some other canary in the mine to tell you it's working.

Honolulu has warnings out for poisonous jellyfish. Good thing they can't climb on land. Much less all the way up that mountain David is on.

The invasion of iguanas in South Florida is worrisome. If they get any larger, they will see us as prey...like mini crocodiles out there. No thank you.
The problem is the orchid trees. Iguanas love them. But not as much as homeowners. It's war. Now they are hiring specialty kill squads to come in and exterminate them
with pellet guns. Videos up on youtube showing the hunt. They don't always hit the animal; always wonder where all those spent rounds are going. What about people down range?
They don't seem to care in the videos. Like Afghans shooting their AK 47's up into the sky. Don't those idiots realize those rounds come down somewhere? Like some innocent person's home?
Maybe they have stone roofs there to compensate.

BEF, looks like a great train excursion. We may have driven over top of you yesterday while you were in the tunnel...doing a loop on the Parkway from Afton to Whetstone Ridge, then down into the valley through Nellysford. At White Rock we hiked to a waterfall...my wife's first hike since finishing physical therapy and she did great. Treated her to a flight at both Veritas and Afton Mountain Vineyards afterwards to celebrate. I just ate her oyster crackers.

Crabtree falls? They are real nice.

Different road, I found white rock.

We are stopping at lot again today, hope to go up part of parkway again. If I can get people moving.

BEF would you take that trip again on the train?

Yes, definitely. Will take the Goshen route next time. It leaves earlier in the day. But want to go thru the tunnel again also. I first thought it was a bit pricy, but meal was good and was a decent trip. Course could always take Amtrak over the mountain and back, but might be long wait for a return train.

Train ride went past a turkey farm, they said these turkeys sell for $100-$150 each.

Speaking of no hunting, neighbor at the lot has 3 no hunting signs posted along the road, and parked a truck there between them. Course hunters would be heading up into what soon will be my woods.
