Good morning, 35 going up to 64 and still dark.
Police arrested some people last night that tried to speed around an accident right near my house. Pulled them over had Dr*g stuff and $5800 in counterfeit money, quit unusual. Police have them as houseguests now, probably for a while.

Had a fire in the temp pit last night and watched a movie outside, pretty chilly though.

Got some leafs moved around and they stay moved for once.

Roy - feel better, take care of yourself

Gota go

Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 4:30AM.
Sunny to partly cloudy. High around 85F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
No sign of rain in the 10-day again.

Uneventful trip to town yesterday, but did swing by the cylinder head shop to try to get a fire going under the machinist. He promises to have some dimensions to me today so I can get some parts ordered. He also checked the connecting rod from the red bike and found it straight, so that's a relief.

Got aligator shot number five, only a bit sore this morning.

Unbeliveably high beef prices at Costso. No wonder restaurant prices are so bad. Good thing I like chicken...

No joy with the radios yet, and think I just need to make up my own patch cords.

TGIF gang!🥃

Made it to work...found out about 30%-40% of the employees are out with Covid...
Not something I need with all my other ills. I think I'm going to head back home with my laptop.

BTW, one word of advice, especially to you older guys. If you develop an enlarged prostate, you'll probably start pissing...a lot. It may be voluntary or involuntary (mine is involuntary). Drink a lot of water! If you don't replenish the liquids, there may be undesirable side effects

Pretty nice day yesterday but a little cold. I layered up and mowed the yard at the farm. I could have put it off for a couple of day but you never know what the future will bring. So far the zero turn has been chopping up the leaves. I have always bagged leaves in the past but I don't have the bagger for the zero turn. Those things are expensive. It seems like every time I save up some money the economy takes a turn for the worse. Looks like it is time to watch our cash. Money doesn't grow on trees.

Today is supposed to be a little warmer and it looks like tomorrow will be downright nice.

My daughter and her husband are moving back to the good old USA from England. She came over first to get the Apartment set up. He has a University job doing genetic research but the Government being what it is, the work visa is slow to come in. He was supposed to start Oct. first. She is visiting us this week and raiding the basement and attic for stuff for the apartment. They will need a car so we are giving her our Camry. I have been thinking about one of those Rav4 primes that Drew mentioned. They are expensive and the tax credit for electric cars has run out. Meantime I will be driving my gas guzzling Tundra.

Hope everyone stays healthy and enjoys the weekend.

Chris

Good Morning! 49˚F heading to the mid 80s clear skies light SW wind.
I thought the campfires sold out but I'll have to do a little investigating to see if they have been pulled because of the County burn ban this week. The web site does not help.

Got the house windows washed yesterday. The Windex pads continue to amaze me. Made the job so easy. The whole house took only one pad. The windows are now clean and spot free.

Pennwalk, If you go with the RAV4 prime keep us advised.

RNG, you've reminded me to get my fifth shot. I'm overdue.
Hopefully one can get the flu shot at the same time, though lots of opinions on that, including being able to know
which one you got a reaction from. I probably ought to get the shingles shot too.
I'd be glad to get a 5 in 1 combo shot every fall. I'd like the extra tracking chips please, since I get lost a lot...

Don, I used the extension mop I use to wash my car on the windows. Just use a squirt of straight car wash soap on it, just squirt if off
when done. I don't even squeegee, seems not to have any streaks.
I started out using a long pole to wash my boats 25 years ago. Have been using a pole to wash things for a long time, nicest ones were the marine
aluminum extension poles, built to last. Got a fairly cheap one now with a synthetic mop head, nice and soft on finish.
Helps not to do all that bending over.
Not sure how to get the middle of the roof without it.

39°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 81° today. Looks like we'll have similar weather through Monday, then back to more seasonal temps.

Good morning, gents.

Yep, these Windex pads are the same way, they have a special formula (#35*11117) that has a sheeting action that rinses to a streak free shine so no need to squeegee or hand dry.

PJ that is the perfect seasonal temps for us, any colder it would be another season - Winter.

Another 100 large boxes of pumpkins arrived at the farm to replenish last weekends depletion. (total now 8-18 wheelers of pumpkins delivered)

Just curious, Don. How hard is the water you used on the windows? I ask because a significant number of Amazon reviews complain about the Windex leaving behind a chalky film that is difficult to remove. And the water here is very hard...

52F and sunny @ 11:30, supposed to be heading up to a high of around 66F today.

Power went off for a minute or so this morning.

The UPS in the upstairs computer room apparently did not survive that - it won't turn back on. Dunno, maybe just bad batteries ?

Had to go downstairs and snag one out of the studio (when did they get so heavy ?) ... now back up and running ... (y)

Also figured out an issue with my phone which was giving me problems with data connectivity over cellular (old VPN profile) ... so now that's working as well.

Agenda for today:

Additional mowing/leaf blowing in back and on west side.

Unload Menards order from van and get that moved over to the barn.

Get fuel for Cub and Kubota at some point.

Move large power tools over to barn.

Cut 2 x 4's for a 4th set of saw horses and get another work table set up on those.

Move some items in the barn that need to be kept dry up to the shop.

Finish clearing off old work table and get the items that were on it either stowed in totes or moved back over to the house if no longer needed.

Start installing the rest of the bird/critter block screen on the gaps at the top of the walls.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone has a great Friday ... (y)

69°F and no rain.

Yesterday turned into an energy conservation day. Everything on the table still there for today. Did get to enjoy getting caught up with friends.

Guys lost at H&F, for 4th time straight. Not a good trend.

Decided to order the Ninja CFP301 coffee maker.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

9 - it's the water that does not go through the water softener.

The New England style chowders are usually quite good, I sure don't care for the Manhatten style. Pretty weak and watered down in my book.

Went to town to fill up the Sprinter with diesel. Expensive and really went up.
Proceeded to the market in Sabillasville to get vegetables and it is close to end of season for them.
The rehab facility had an incident yesterday that our daughter handled really well. One of the clients got a hold of a shovel (don't know from where) and bashed another client in the head and chased down others with it. She was able to get the other clients rounded up and moved into a backroom that could be locked and called police and ambulance. Police arrested the guy and the injured was taken to the hospital with head injuries. The place was a mess with windows smashed and a lot of room damage. She was pretty cool about it and did not panic.

Here is a pic of her daughter from the time period when she lived with us
