BEF nice tummy rub Tuesday kitty pic.

Good morning! Nice weather is holding. 49˚F heading to the mid 80s, desperately need rain.

Came in 1st place in the Hand and Foot quarterly rankings, (July , August, September). However this quarter will not be as fruitful because I will be missing half of the games while playing on the Farm. When you miss a day it is a automatic 5 game loss. However I did have fun last night winning 4 of the 5 hands.

A good morning to mow the yard.

On the 7:15 ish tractor wagon ride I always point out to all the riders that they are on the best ride of the day - The sunset ride with the golden sky.
We have a mike on the tractor and speakers on the trailer so wet can talk to the riders. There are also 8 pre recorded info buttons that we can push that give info about the farm. When I first started out I could not think of anything to say, and utilized the buttons a lot. Now I don't have time to push the buttons because there is a lot of information to tell these folks about the different farm fields and adventure activities as we pass them. On one ride Saturday a little girl was getting off the trailer and handed me a "Good Job" card. How sweet. . .

Try cutting the phone off for 10 minutes seems to help mine
Figured it out. Had the phone on VPN and that apparently stopped it from ringing

36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 76° today.

Thanks for passing along our best wishes to Ellen, Drew. We certainly miss Randy.

L4N, he was having some health issues this summer, was hospitalized, and left us in the middle of August.

Still no word from Eric since the end of April. Hope he's OK.

Nice pics, BEF.

Good morning, gents.

Drew, I know a lot of us are thinking of Ellen.

PJ, I tried searching for Eric but I couldn't find anything. Hopefully no news is good news. Sometimes you don't want to get your name in the paper.

63F and "Fair" @ 12:15, calling for a high of around 66F today, same as what the high was yesterday. Low yesterday was 39.2F and 38.3F this morning. Ten Day still looking outstanding weather-wise ... (y)

Birds still on the hopper feeder this morning but I think I'll check it, should be about due for a refill.

Got rest of the outside clay pile run through the screener yesterday. Pile of material to be rescreened is around back where it can some sun to dry out further.

Plus got grading done outside where the pile had been sitting. That area will have to be worked a little more to compact it and smooth it out. It was pretty wet so it will need to dry up some over the next couple of days before it can be finished.

Also removed more junk from the pole barn, probably about 80% empty at this point.

Woman worked on raking and cleaning up leaves and debris inside.

We also got the three doors raised/opened up further to let more light in and be able to drive the scissors lift in. (The springs were initially set by the installer for garage door openers so they are harder to raise than they would typically be if they weren't)

Also got leaves removed from half of the gutters on the front side of the barn, still need to do the other half and the flush it out with the hose which will likely occur later today. Also located the instructions for the gutter covers.

Noticed there was one roofing nail laying on the steel while I was up there doing that, not sure why it came out but need to see if I have any nails and fix that.

Live trap rebaited, discovered that I had inadvertently left the catch that holds the door open engaged the last time which is why they were able to steal the bait the last time. Hopefully better luck this morning ... 🤞

Placed Menards order for trailer hitch ball (not going to waste any more time looking for mine) + remainder of joist hangers, screws for completing hay wagon, a couple of magnetic bit holders, and a Black and Decker 20v combo set of a 3/8 drill and impact driver which uses the same batteries as the string trimmer and cultivator. Woman about to depart to go pick those up.

Going to make one last check for my framing nailer up in the shop before I order another one.

Today's agenda:

Refill hopper feeder.

Check live trap.

Get started sorting out, organizing, and palletizing lumber.

Connect water line running over to barn and check for leaks.

Check temp electric line and reconnect it.

Possibly shoot grade inside the barn and get it marked on the posts.

Finish cleaning out gutter on front side of the barn.

A couple of pics at sunset yesterday:

69°F and .10 inches rain.

Need to make a HD run this morning. Concerned that after Ian materials might become a bit scarce or at least a price increase. Decided to move up a planned remodel to one of my suites. Need a sheet of plywood and length of butcher block counter.

Got the tear out done yesterday which took longer than expected. I should know better as I have a tendency to build for permanence. A prime goal of the tear out was to preserve the custom cabinet for reuse. Mission accomplished.

Ordered my Residential Starlink yesterday. Surprised to get the email. Service has been quite good lately. May put the RV SL upto the cottage.

Don, return to in person Happy Hour still unknown. We have had a couple at homes but none in restaurants yet. With zoom the mainland people often participate. Like yesterday Cooke from Canada and another in Wisconsin.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Did my errands in town, including bank, picking up scraps for critters, stopping at Farm Equip place

The Zero-Turn was going to be delivered around 2:30 pm today, after the delay on Saturday. It arrived at 7:15 pm in the dark, placed on the edge of the driveway, and no contact made. I heard the dogs. Moved it to the back area behind the chicken coop and under a tree canopy. I'll have a better look in the morning. to dark for a photo, so here is an internet version ... I think it will work fine. Some modifications to be done still, but at least it is home now. This should be way easier for me to get on / off.
