Good morning!!!!

So, I negotiated a deal on a used Cub Cadet Zero Turn rider mower today. I need to get ahead of this yardwork again. This will give me access to most of the mowing areas. The machine has about 300 hrs on it. The seller is my local agri-repair dealer, and it was their personal machine - it is well maintained.

Before Delivery, some fabrication will be done in the days / weeks ahead ... custom hand controls for direction and braking, and a grab bar to make it easier for me to step on/off. He seemed eager to get a chance to do some fabricating for my needs (and probably would have done that "gratis" but I offered $200 clams. I think that i will also add a hitch ball for convenience; a basic toolbox, and a single LED headlight at some point.

While I wait for the fabrication to be done, I have hired a neighbour to give the yard a good once over with her JD Ride On Lawn Tractor ... tomorrow is the plan, and that should buy me 2-3 weeks, ... enough time for the Cub Cadet to arrive.

I think this will be a good investment. Eager to put it to work.

55° right now...high in the low 60's and rain today. The forecast for rain has dropped from almost an inch to about ¼". I hope we get more than a ¼.
Another day at work...urinary issues still near, but not too bad last night

Have a great day, all!!

Edit: Just updated the forecast...now the rainfall is to be
¾"

good morning all.
Roy, .71 inches here, sounds like your new forecast, coming at you right now

woke up at 2am, rain pounding on roof, sounded wonderful, promptly went back to bed

no plans for today other than getting a haircut this afternoon.

thanks Kyle for thoughts. I'm blessed living between two super capable guys, Ken and Paul.
I'll let Paul post pics, but he has another grandson pic of worth; I bid on a little stool at a church auction and won it.
Knew as soon as I saw it was perfect for grandson and son of pilots. Has a little plane (DC-3) carved into top and painted.
Probably one of a kind. Paul has such a good heart and is so giving of himself, good he gets something back.

rain is pulling out, should be warm humid day later

71 and muggy, but that's an okay price to pay for the half inch of rain we received and needed...looking for 86 later.

Kyle, prayers and big birthday wishes for your big girl. I bet that chicken was extra tasty.

Buppies, sorry about your bears...I have coon problems, not bear ones. Now having to bring in 6 of the hummingbird feeders every night...she has a sweet tooth...problem is the hummingbirds want to eat until dark, so just a small window of time between them.

Pop, real nice looking mailbox...and there's room for a little alpaca artwork on the side.

Thomas, hope you're not going crazy being restricted, but grab the opportunity to rest and heal...maybe your wife would be up for a car trip up to Franconia Notch or Mt Washington, or somewhere closer that you like.

Still have a very slow leak in the rear Zero tire...I plugged it a couple of weeks ago, but guess I'll have to try again...just not sure the best way to get the plug out now. Now that we got some rain, also have some tractor tilling to do.

LS, your place is looking fantastic.

I miss the daily dose of English humour.

Morning all, 70 going up to 80 and sun is out.
Lots of thunder and lightning last night to make sure we knew it was raining again.

Went to a retirement dinner for wife's coworker. Lots of speeches, but decent evening.

Drew - bigger tires with spinners and one of those california remote hydraulic lifters so you can make the cart dance ?

RS- getting the shaft up in the right position, frustrating to have to remove reinstall pins, but how often do you do this. So minor in the big picture of things. How much more work to get the tractor back in service?

Kyle - Happy birthday to your daughter-good she has the drive to do the cooking. My kid just microwaves most things....

Well, back to the day job and Math study with son later.

Stay safe and be well,

Good Morning.
It’s 71 and will get close to 80 today. Rained about 1/2” overnight, should be dry today.

Yesterday was a typical day, spent the morning in the shop on the mailbox project, ended up ordering stainless hardware from Amazon, supposed to be here today.
Tried the local hardware stores without success, sadly it’s getting hard to expend the effort to tour TSC, and the hardware stores and not find what I want, and then be able to get just what I want over night for less money.

Grilled a nice lunch for myself and a neighboring farmer before finishing up in the shop and heading over to Drew’s. We got his generator fixed up, it was surprising that the new switch came without a harness and had to be soldered in. I did not expect that or bring a soldering iron, but Drew had a very nice little kit with everything I needed. I blew a fuse in the process of soldering in the switch when I shorted the battery wire to ground with the soldering iron. Took longer to dig up a fuse than it did to install the switch, and all I could find was a 3 amp to replace the 10amp one that I blew. But it worked and tested ok. Drew was kind enough to send me home with a very nice stool for my grandson.

He seemed to really like it.

Sprayed some sevin on recently hatched bag worms in a juniper bush, had a quick dinner and joined a Zoom meeting for the Airport Authority before calling it a day.

Today will be a bit slower, a trip to Concord, NH where it will raining and not so nice just to drop a single passenger off, then right home. Will spend more time driving back and forth to the airport than flying.

No music tonight, one of my band mates just tested positive for alligatoritis.
