Think about that for a second...if there is high demand, they wouldn't be slashing prices. The Bolt has to be slashed in price because it is inferior to other options.
Wrong! Unless you driven a Bolt or other electric vehicles then your opinion doesn't hold weight.

I'm going to ass-ume the Bolt is a loss leader to bring down the CAFE numbers overall for GM.

It's amazing how many participants in this forum are completely ignorant or misinformed on the topic of Electric Vehicles! Their adoption is growing rapidly and will soon take over the market. Here on the West Coast it is already obvious as EVs seem to be as common as Hondas and Toyotas! They are everywhere, and I have yet to encounter an owner who bemoans their decision to buy one. Just the opposite is true.

Sorry neighbor. The data does not agree with you. Bolt sales down 95% at the same time EV sales are up 60%.

You claimed "the bolt has to be slashed because it is inferior to other options". Define "inferior"?
"Nothing has been removed," GM product specialist Shad Balch told the Detroit Free Press. "This reflects our ongoing desire to make sure Bolt EV/EUV is competitive in the marketplace. As we’ve said, affordability has always been a priority for these vehicles."

So you can read into the marketplace what you want but until you drive a Bolt you have no clue. I personally believe that the rest of the EV's are extremely overpriced for what you get.
I met a Mach-E owner at a charging station while charging my Bolt. He stated he paid $72K for his EV that was used with 2500 miles on it. His car was fantastic and had a huge center screen but was it twice as good as my Bolt? Nada!

The main reason the Bolt is down in sales, IMO, is the over exaggerated fire issue (0.0016% of all Bolts) with the original battery, that has since been upgraded.

I think it's like bidet's that you install on toilets. When you finally get one you wonder how you did without one for years. :ROFLMAO:

Seriously, I made a 180 mile drive to Dallas and I'm just amazed why people haven't at least test drive an EV. Even if gas came down to $2/gal I would still own one as the convenience of charging at home and ease of operating in traffic makes it a no brainer.

People also ask

How much does it cost to replace a Chevy Bolt battery?

According to a post on chevybolt.org, a dealership quoted a Chevy Bolt owner in November 2018 $16,250 for a battery replacement, with $870 for labor. Given that Chevy Bolt batteries are rated at 60 kWh, that equates to approximately $271/kWh, about 68% higher than the 2019 average price.Apr 11, 2022

Just your opinion...we all have 'em...
But don't tell us we're ignorant or misinformed...for some of us, EV's are not a practical solution to our transportations needs
Urban areas, I do see fairly rapid acceptance....much less in the rural areas

Of course not, but you have no idea what an inverter is…so I was just clarifying it for you. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about regarding solar system design or function. Maybe just stop posting?
lol...Just stop posting...I know two year old's that can better reason than you can.

You probably have solar and still suffer still when the power goes out. Brilliant.

Given that 97% of the scientific community disagrees with most of what you've said above, I'm skeptical, but willing to look at your sources. Maybe I'll learn something.
Well I've read several books. I've never been a single source person because you have to cut through agenda driven and politically skewered propaganda. The best book for the science is by M.J. Sangster "The real Inconvenient Truth,it's warming but it's not CO2". The best book for explaining the 97% hoax is "Inconvenient Facts" by Gregory Wrightstone. This book explains how political entities "cooked the books" to get this phony 97% consensus.

Remember science often has to succumb to money to get research grants, publications, funding etc. Political pandering happens...NASA is hugely funded by taxpayers and is where Bill Nyes "the science guy" worked as a mechanical engineer and became the face of climate change activists (on PBS indoctrinating children no less.) A mechanical engineer as an authority on climate change??? Most honest scientists actually took no position on anthropogenic warming because as scientists they could not honestly put their name on something that is a long way off from being settled.....they, of course, were left off this survey....about 8,000 world wide, but these are only ones that publicly commented. .... but get this book by Wrightstone as it goes into the details of this but also other topics related to climate change (well referenced)

also Dr. Tim Ball a Canadian who has been around a long time and loaded with credentials....he has couple good books on the climate and how data gets manipulated to achieve a desired outcome. The one I have is titled "Human Caused Global Warming" the biggest deception in history.

I'm always skeptical as well.....Especially when I see a headline that seems a bit too "advertising"......so I dig for the truth. I don't have an agenda I just don't like to be lied to....

before the IPCC started to influence policy, several hearings took place in Congress.(with physicists, geologists, climatologists , Much of it was on c span and documented on YouTube as well. YouTube disappeared much of it? One might assume that this didn't follow the preferred narrative? .... but all the congressional hearings should be available in the archives.....Some interesting rebuttal to the touted 97% consensus.

news that is omitted leaves me to search, why?

So true! This weekend we drove round trip from an hour north of San Francisco, to a few miles south of The City. There seemed to be a Tesla among the oncoming traffic nearly continuous. Three around us, waiting at stoplight, a couple of times.

EV's aren't the answer for the deep rural folks on here. But they are great for urban owners who can charge at home and drive mostly within a 100 mile radius. A huge number of Americans fit that profile.
