I'm impatiently waiting for images. The precision of this scope is noted in the fact that they needed to wait for a final few more degrees of cooling. So the sun side and shade side have a variance of 450F. Nope, not good enough. We need it to be 480Fish. That's precision.

I’m running out of words to talk about how I feel every time I see a fresh James Webb Space Telescope image. “Stunning,” “dazzling,” “luminescent,” “radiant,” “jaw-dropping,” “just, seriously, wow.” I’m going to need to dive into my thesaurus when the telescope finally starts publishing actual scientific images based on the latest drop.

To be clear, other than the fact that Webb is aligned and appears fully functional, there are no spectacular images being produced at this time. The most that has been released are these two-toned, gold and black, images. Nice deep space object density (DSO) but nothing beyond the linked.

That's what I thought too, otlski. I got suckered in once before on this. I think it is people posting click bait to get their Youtube numbers up and showing images that have nothing to do with the Webb, and basically lying about it.

YEP, waiting for them to point (once fully functional) in a direction that the Hubble showed empty space in "deep field."

Also point it to an area where Hubble has had trouble with dust obscuring visible light.
