That is a Bi metal self resetting circuit breaker. I would recommend checking with your dealer on the proper fuse.

Shot silicone spray lubricant into ign switch. Solenoid now engages, starter motor does not turn. Assuming low current from battery. Charging battery.

Ignition switch feels different. Resistance to turning it now.

By the way, on your post #7, middle paragraph. I am not clear on when you hear a faint click & all goes dead.
Is it when you turn the key to the "Start" position that all goes dead for a short period of time? If that is when all goes dead, I feel certain your problem is either the (aforementioned) circuit breaker, or a poor battery cable connection.

Yes, that ts correct. My thinking is the ign switch is doing something wonky. The previous owner installed the bi-metal fuse to combat the ign switch frequently blowing that fuse. The lubricant sprayed into the ign switch seems to have remedied the problem.

The electrical part of the key switch is a very simple design using a copper disk that rotates with the Key. See here. A solvent (Like WD40) may help clean the switch better than silicone lubricant.

WD40 in ign switch solved it. Starter turns with each key turn.

Thank you to all that helped. I never would have thought to spray anything into the ign switch on my own, and I would have bought a starter and still had the problem.

I’ve had to replace my ground battery cable due to cable failure. Turn key and glow plugs worked turn to start and dead as a doornail. Replaced cable and right as rain.

New member here, same issue on Kioti LK3054: I have tried WD-40 in ignition switch, no effect. When I rap on starter with hammer, it catches and starts, runs well. My first assumption is a starter rebuild/replacement remedy, but guess I need some confirmation before replacing starter or other parts (neg. ground cable etc). Thots from you smarter folks please?
