Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 4:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 76F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Glad to learn that there are now more modern, and humane, dog deterrents out there, Paul. And that they work!
Caretaker unit is coming right along, David. What's the next project?
If you want something done right, ya gotta do it yourself, Rich. But that doesn't stop most Previous Owners from being very proud of their work!
Sounds like you're in good hands, Drew. My guess is there's some corrosion going on somewhere. You know about DeOxIt, right?
Glad you had a happy landing, Paul. Also curious what could cause that kind of over pressure.
Workers showed up right on time yesterday, and right away the rippers on the dozer cut down a bunch of exposed rock I've been bouncing over for a dozen years. No problem at all. They found more rocks up at the top, but no bedrock, and managed to cut down about four feet before quittin' time. I now have several large piles of dirt for other projects, and we've literally only scratched the surface.
To stay out of the way, I started knocking down more dead manzanita with the grapple. More very steep ground, and half expected to get stuck but didn't. Built the burn pile back up, and still have several more trees to go. What a difference getting rid of all those stark gray ghosts.
But the contractor needs a bit of machining, so if he shows up with the steel this morning, that's what I'll be doing instead.
As expected, they cut through the land line in the first hour, and I'm surprised and happy that the cellular phone is now working just fine here, for the first time ever. It even works in the house. I don't know if it's the newer phone or Verizon improving its towers, but no more dropped calls, or calls that won't even go through. And the voice quality is so much better than the land line, too.
