I'm seeing five year old Chargers on buy-here-pay-here lots down around a grand . . . friend of mine buys salvage cars at auction, and pays about $300 for one, then he sells the engine and scraps the rest.
...and Mopars have never been noted for fuel efficiency either and with regular unleaded E gas what it is, I don't believe they will be all that popular anyway. I don't know of anyone (myself included) that relishes dumping a C note in the tank multiple times weekly. Why my wife's Suburban with the 350 V8 stays garaged most of the time and we drive my Focus RS. That DOHC transverse turbocharged 4 had gobs of balls but still gets 40 mph so long as you drive it sanely. I believe it's rated at 320 horses which puts it in supercar status because it's basically an overpowered roller skate. All I know is on an average on ramp, I can easily hit 120 mph without really trying. Not that I do it often, I usually drive my age which is old and sedate.

Clock goes to 150 and I'm pretty sure it will go that fast too, just not with me in it.

It's an engine that if anything breaks, you pull the motor to fix.

Dreadfully complicated.

Sounds like the late model Ford pickup deal where you have to remove the cab to work on the motor. That there is a fantastic idea.... not.

The optional motor in the 2012 LTZ is a 350 with VVT. The standard engine is the smaller V8, also with VVT. It is off lease, only way I buy anything now. It's 2 years old. You are a pretty good story teller yourself. You seem to like following me around are you gay or something?

I bought a 1997 Dodge for the Cummins motor and when I went to remove the motor I had to remove the body mounts and lift the cab. The transmission had already been removed. This is not much different than the Ford but nobody mentions it.
