Good morning!!!!

Been snowing on and off today at the farm. Might get more tonight.

Got the new camera up, the one I’ve tested at home since January. The other game cam I put up after Christmas lasted 5 days before the batteries died on it.

Sister stopped by for awhile.

Carvana gets 4.5 stars. They paid the amount stated on their web site and did everything they said they would do. I deducted 1/2 star because their uploading of photos was complicated and they were an hour late today. Overall a good experience and top dollar. 1K more than CarmaX offered.

It was all done online and the guy carrying the check only checked the odometer and documents and gave mom the check. Poor guy that did the checking talked so fast and with an accent I had to tell him to slow down and asked where he was from. He said Ukraine, his family is still in one of the towns and can't leave because there is no place to go and the planes keep the anxiety level up. He did a good job. My mom was wondering if he was really from Ukraine, his pronunciation the towns was good so I would say he was truthful but told Mom that she was very good in always suspecting a scam and to always keep her suspicions up.

He left the keys in a lock box on the window and said a tow truck would be by later. The truck arrived at 7PM, the car is gone. The 8 year old car sold for 3K less than it was bought new. Mom was amazed and kept asking if I was sure it was not a scam. I showed her the Carvana car vending machines on my phone, she did not quite understand the concept, of course I don't either.
For checks like that, I meet at the bank and make sure they are valid, before the deal finishes.
Good morning! 37 now, 44 later. Snow is in the forecast. A return to winter for this weekend.

The cat adoption is going slowly. Something bad happened to her before she was dumped. It is taking time. But she made big steps this week. She is getting into bed at night and even gives me attention in bed. She has bonded fairly well with Joyce. The other 2 cats are still not happy campers but are not being a PIA about her moving in.

Yesterday was my last day of work. Still on the payroll through next week, but burning vacation days. Yesterday afternoon was somewhat bittersweet. Still doesn’t seem real after 43 years.

Not sure what I will get into today. Waiting for the tow truck for my wife’s work truck. It developed some bizarre electrical gremlin on the way home yesterday. Horn blows, warning lights flash, warnings come on on the dash. Then stop for a while and then repeats. I disconnected the battery. She drove her car and made arrangements for the truck to be hauled.

@Wagtail - we have Guinea fowl. They are quite entertaining. They aren’t afraid of anything. So it seems.

Everyone stay safe out there!
Congrats on retirement. Hope you have the best of days ahead, once you get used to it. Feel free to share photos of any project motorcycles and whatever. How are you feeling about the flattrack rule changes to the Indians? It seems to be working, getting some different brands on the podium.

Thanks for all the concerns about the storms, many were not so fortunate.

Hydraulic ram update: Machined the rod last night. Stayed late at work....booger took me 7 hours to finish both ends. Mostly because I had to bore out a special 32mm collet on the lathe to keep from scratching the chrome plating. Came out good. Need to weld it now.

Got up this morning and went to play tennis with daughter. I wish I was half as good as I used to be. Got worn out pretty fast.

Came home and put the new $14 carburetor on the HF 212cc predator engine. pretty easy task. Then I tilled the garden. Whew, wore out. Fitbit says I got 183 zone minutes so far today.

Son had 3 boys over. 12 year old boys, play differently nowadays. I kept sending them out to go play ball....2 of them didn't want to go.

Yesterday's temp had a 40 degree delta 43-83, today's went from 53 to 86F

Eric, glad you have good outside weather for outside tasks.

Don, those little honda engines only hold 2.7 ounces of oil. Hard to believe its enough oil when you pour it in.

Rich,

All the parts are cut out on a table saw. The cut outs in the baffle are done with a router with a protractor type base for the round ones, a template guide and template for the square one.
All the parts get dados for assembly, they are done on the table saw as well working from a drawing and setting the fence with a steel rule.
The boxes will assemble and stand on their own without glue.

Nice for sure! I have one of the protractor thingys..... never used it. I never had to cut out circles bigger than my hole saws.... I know it will work now!

Well I finally found out where I left my motivation! Got it back in place where it should be!
Got a few things done out in the shop.... hung the mounts for the PHD auger (it's the second larger 12"). Hung up the tooth bar for the bucket. Then a few little fixes that always got put off. Productive day for sure!

No episodes of lightheadedness or other symptoms..... I wonder what the cardiac monitor recorded. Apparently, it is monitored remotely 24/7. I didn't get any calls, so probably nothing out of the ordinary.

I gathered all of my stakes, string, and marking paint. Going to mark the property line between us and the old house tomorrow..... for a 300' long privacy fence. Went online and scheduled for utilities marking.

Almost time to sit back and relax....

Good evening all. 46ºF for the start, did see 45ºF on the bike early in the ride, clear sky light breeze. Light wind, sky stay clear, and high temp was 80ºF, DP 34ºF. Bike ride to start day, 4 of us riding. Really nice day for it. Nap after lunch, then dinner with wife, step daughter and her hubby.
Oosik glad you had nicer weather for some outside activity.

Roy could never get away with 68ºF at night, let alone day.
Roy another great link, very nice duo
Dennis good to hear new camera up. nice pic
Kyle nice to hear progress on hydraulic ram. My guess is no to heating the ram so it would not break, once you put ram past elastic bending it broke. That means likely cracked, heat not likely to affect ease of crack getting bigger. Other side did not break!.
Kyle nice threading

Good morning And evening all! What a beautiful day here in NE Tasmania... a cool 5C at 0515 when I got up for church (@0900) and it warmed up to a calm, cloudless, 25C.

Everything is back in its place or returned after last Sunday's gathering. I'm looking to to do a mowing around the property (Z-turn FUN!) plus chain-harrow/mow paddocks 1 & 2. Gorgeous early Autumn weather.
