Gasoline has gone down 4¢ here. Filled up today for $3.899 a gallon.
I paid $3.789 at Buc-ee's yesterday afternoon. But I think most stations in this area had the same price posted that you paid.

Incidentally, the wind was blowing so hard while I was putting gas in the car that I could hardly stand up. and you could sure feel it buffeting the car about when driving.

txdon said, "Bird, rain is finally heading this way Monday (Maybe Sunday night for you) time to put out the fertilizer."

I've already bought a big bag of Scotts Triple Action Turf Builder to put on the backyard. And yesterday I had that big live oak tree in the front yard pretty drastically pruned, so at least some sun can get to the ground. I may go buy grass seed today or tomorrow for that bare area. Right now I'm leaning toward Scotts Turf Builder Tall Fescue seed at The Home Depot unless someone convinces me to try something else.

And I got absolutely none of the forecast rain yesterday, so I'll hope for soem Monday.

Let me know how you do with the Scott's Bird.
So far I have had zero luck with that brand, and lots of luck with the generic contractor bags.
Though it seems Scott's has taken over the shelves everywhere around here.

Helogabals - We like to get that beer here, but it's never fresh enough after crossing the pond-you have a good friend!

Good morning, low temp 37 and a high of 41°F. Wind NNE 9 gusting to 19 mph. 30% chance of drizzle.

Today is kitten castration day IF we can find them. They are in the house, somewhere. They only have 2800 square feet to hide in on two floors.
After taking the kittens to the vet, the car will get a much needed wash. Not much else planned for today.

Have a safe day all

LOL! The Irish Rovers got their start in Toronto. But it all really started in Calgary, where Sharon and I used to watch them play at Phil’s Pancake house in Calgary in the ‘60’s.

Bird, I think it's too hot in Texas for the Tall fescue. It is a cool season grass. It will be ok for the spring but it will go dormant or die in the Summer heat. It's kind of like rye grass.

"Lawns with Tall Fescue thrive when daytime temperatures are 60-75 degrees. Above 75 degrees Tall Fescue will struggle. Above 90 degrees the grass may go into dormancy to protect itself. If it is too hot for too long, there may be permanent damage."

Good Morning!!!! 51F @ 6:15AM. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 73F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

That's a very fine Pils, Helogabals!

Got several trees limbed and the new burn pile fired off before the dozer showed up yesterday, but I was in the middle of one with the tractor parked across the driveway when I heard it coming down the hill on the trailer. I snagged the phone to get the video, and watched as the driver frantically waved at me to move the tractor. He was having a bit of trouble stopping. After unloading, we took a walk around the perimeter to size up the work, and nothing too dangerous jumped out at the operator. We start this morning, him going after dead and dying trees and brush, me giving the yes/no on live ones, and rigging chain drags as necessary. Should be interesting.

After they left, I was surprised that the Kubota dealer called to let me know the waterpump I'd ordered the day before had come in. So after some lunch, instead of more limbing, I headed into town to pick that up, along with the ammo I'd ordered over a year ago. Turns out I'd have gotten it much sooner if the clerk had noticed it was also available in 50 round boxes as well as the 20 rounders they ordered. Also snagged some more 00 buck, just in case.

Loaded up on meat at Costco, another just in case purchase, but did find what looked like more reasonable prices than a couple weeks ago. Hope fuel prices out here soon follow suit. Enjoyed a nice chunk of salmon on the BBQ for dinner.

TGIF gang! 🥃

Happy b'day Phil!

PJ, I hope the stepson's bday meal went well.

I took my son and 2 friends to the Spiderman movie. I have to say, the plot has many twists (that open up avenues for more movies from Marvel)....

Very windy today with new dry, cool front blowing through...but only 51F . High wild fire chances.

Mom had trouble breathing again yesterday. Doc said she has a bit of fluid on 1 lung. Lasix, 1 prednisone a day for 7 days, and 3 days of Afrin. I know these things all add up. She says she's feeling better. We are going to visit her today. She's had sinus problems for decades. She's 93. Had the strangest smoking habit when younger that I've ever witnessed. She would only smoke 1, maybe 2 cigarettes at night when she went to bed. Nothing during the day. She quit 30 years ago at age 62 or 63.

I'm thankful I never picked up the smoking/tobacco habit. I believe dipping may be the hardest habit of all to kick, except maybe smack. The reason I'm against legalization of mind altering substances, is because most of the time, they are detrimental to a person being a productive member of society. Lost a brother to dope, he was one of the smartest people I've ever known, but stupid when it came to dope. Yes, alcohol is a drug, and I know plenty of working alcoholics (I drink, but very little these days)....most can sleep off a bad binge and their body pays a toll (hangover). I could vote for legalization from a pipedream perspective for the very sick, retired persons, and people that can afford it and would not to be a burden to society. No way to control that. In a nutshell, if you're pulling your own weight, I'm fine with whatever you do.

Well, we caught the grey kitten, but the orange one is hiding. One is better than none. I will give it a couple of weeks and then take the orange one to a 24 hour vet I know of. Might cost me more, but two or even one intact males is one too many around here.
Of course, junior was told to block off the basement door...He didn't. The orange one is in the trusses in the basement. Good luck finding him. He won't even come out for Temptations treats.

It’s amazing how animals know when something’s up.

Ken, I've had good luck with Scott's except for one time that was a complete failure, but I'll have to admit that it might have been my fault for not properly following their instructions.
