Good morning, low temperature is 40 and going to a high of 55.°F. Wind SSW 9 mph. 40% chance of showers.
I have a fellow that has a maple bush, he and his son do the sap and they have an exclusive bunch of older folks that insist on dark maple syrup. I managed to get into this group. 1 gallon/year is what I get. Now being up here in Kanuckistan and being arbitrarily put on the metric system where 4.54 Litres equal an Imperial gallon, which neither he nor his son agree with, he sells 5 Litres for the gallon price AND delivers it. Perfect. He fills his jugs right up to the safety seal, rather than up to the shoulder of the jug which is 1 Litre. The darker the syrup, the stronger the taste.
A town run is in the cards for today, after that I don't know what I will get into.
Tomorrow will be interesting, it is cat castration day. The last time I tried to catch them for the rabies shots I could only catch the one and that one isn't the cat that wants to go outside.
Happy Birthday Phil!
daugen, it sucks that you can't take the train.
Back in the early 1970s I heard about a fellow that took a locomotive from the yard in Winnipeg, Manitoba for a joy ride to Calgary, Alberta. The railroad had him arrested and charged with theft. He pleaded 'not guilty' and the judge tossed the charges out because the locomotive never left railroad property.
This was before the days of computerized train tracking.
Have a safe day all
