25° sitting on side porch watching my fire, with the other helper on my lap. Was standing next to it but got tired standing.

Arkansas is my next state picture. We have made 27 driving round trips there since 2013 when our oldest started college until last December when our youngest graduated. A minimum of 2000 miles each trip.

Why isn't it pushing snow instead of plowing snow?
When we talk of plowing it's cutting and turning over soil.

Probably because the implement mounted on the trucks is called a snowplow

Definition of plow (Entry 2 of 2)
transitive verb
1a: to turn, break up, or work with a plow
b: to make (something, such as a furrow) with a plow
2: to cut into, open, or make furrows or ridges in with or as if with a plow
3: to cleave the surface of or move through (water) whales plowing the ocean
4: to clear away snow from with a snowplow plow the street
5: to spend or invest (money) in substantial amounts —used with into plow money into stocks

And, of course, we do have snow pushers, a completely different implement best used, IMHO, on parking lots

good Monday morning all. Mighty cold for here, 9 degrees and going up to around freezing in mixed clouds day.
Professor Roy, good answer!

I've decided that for less than six inches of snow, easier to use a manual push shovel, need to find one with wheels.
Or get my driveway paved so I don't have to worry about picking up gravel. One option is lots cheaper...

not very motivated this morning. More coffee.

have a great day guys

Might want to consider a powered snow broom...

I ordered a 30 inch push shovel with wheels, made in US, little more than chinese stuff but looked durable.
Slightly angled, it should mean only four straight passes down the driveway. Am thinking my high performance snow blower was a bit
of overkill.

Roy, with large gravel, not much powered works well I'm finding out. I need either a top coat of finer gravel, which would help, or paving.
Snowblowers are meant for pavement; I've used on gravel before with skids all the way up, but this current model seems like a vacuum for stones.
