Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 5:00AM. Partly cloudy skies. High around 90F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Rain seems to have disappeared again in the WU 10-day, but the TV weather geek was still pretty excited about it last night. o_O I guess it either will or it won't.

Sorry to hear about the Deere, Chris. Do you do your own welding?

I haven't heard that the CDC has approved a booster for the Moderna shot yet, Don. It's been lagging the Pfizer vaccine by something like six weeks. Hope you don't find any more oil on the floor.

Kīlauea seems to have gone back to sleep on the IR map, David. No surprise the Hawaiian marijuana trade seems to be thriving. Maybe your sister's city drinking water is spiked? 😄 Cake looks very festive!

Good idea on the shot timing, Ron. Think I'll hit Costco in a week or two for a dose of the regular stuff. And not plan anything for the day after.

Looking forward to cooler weather here, Rich, so I can go back to wearing leathers on the bike. Hope the new shipper works out.

Only a few people were wearing masks in town yesterday, but hospitalizations are up again and UCU beds increasingly hard to find. It seems to be worse now here than ever before, yet nobody seems to be taking any precautions. Perhaps that's why?

Noticed the speedo on the van wasn't working when I started the trip, and a mile or so later it started bucking as the computer cut the ignition. Then I remembered I wanted to stop by the junkyard and see if they had any railroad track, so flipped around and made it home without any further protest. I'll be under the dash hooking up a new radio antenna this weekend anyway, so will see what's going on in there then.

Hit the junkyard on the way home, and they had plenty of track. But none that could be easily reached. So the young man I spoke to will dig it out over the next week, then cut a couple seven foot lengths for both the neighbor's box blade and mine. Said it'll weigh somewhere between 90 and 125 pounds per foot.

Errands took longer than I thought, so no progress on the tank.

Noticed the tarp on the campfire wood pile is in shreds, so picked up a heavier duty one at HF. Not a bad price, but I hope it lasts longer than the blue ones. Also picked up a new six foot level. The old one was destroyed when the neighbor caught it with a tooth with his backhoe. I got the twelve dollar version, just in case it happens again. It amazes me they can sell something like that so inexpensively. It's all out of China, so can you imagine how many they're selling over there to get the production costs so low? And how many they sell here to spread out the shipping costs?

TGIF gang!🍻

Morning all, 45 during the dog walk this morning, only getting into the 60's again.
Will , hopefully, be getting the pool closed today. Cleaning out the leaves is becoming a chore.
I got an email from paypal that I got a refund for my clematis order today. Not from the company I ordered it from a few months back. Canceled the rest of that order.

David-that cake looks great,

Roy - glad you are feeling better- and Suzette is home - bet she is happy no more hospital!

Mostly-Hemlock is in full flower  Didn't even know what it was, since we had none last year.

RS- Rose of sharon are nice-I have to fence mine in as the deer here will even eat these! How is the bloodmeal working for you?

Drew - congrats on shed- can't believe the hoops you had to go through to get one.

Happy birthday Paul and many more! Pictures of the new ride soon? And coworker sleeping on the job too :)

RNG - never had much luck with HF tarps - some of them had holes when I unpackaged them...Hope you have better luck.

Stay safe and be well,

Hello all....been a while.

46 heading to lower 70's today. Maybe the grass will finally slow down. Just cut it again yesterday. Just a swath in the middle pasture remains.

My job took me away for a while. Then some bad family events and they got mixed in with the supply chain woes of today. While on a trip out west we had an accident with our big truck and horse trailer. Truck totaled, trailer - goose neck avoided serious damages. It was a high five figures event. I am sure you all have seen the issues with truck availability and prices. The good news is, we got serious cash for our totaled truck. The bad news, at the time, try finding one. And then try getting a gooseneck living quarters trailed hauled across the country. It worked out, but now someone has a bigger, fancier truck. More truck, cannot be bad right?

On the farm front, the SO maintained all very well and managed to gain a few more customers for her business. I heard yesterday, the IRS finally got her monies into her account. Wow. I know they are overloaded, but just....wow.

I'll be back to lurking for a while, trying to catch up. And my SO has another project in the mix, she would like to convert an old dairy building into livable space. I will be asking for lots of advice on that as the building is built like a bank vault and concrete work will have to be involved.

Hope all are well, safe and healthy as can be.

Oh, next month, one year since we started our drain field/septic replacement. Still not in. My local and state government need some fixing with rules and regulations. The experience and monies involved have been another major issue. I actually had to demolish a building on the planned site just to recoup space.

Have a great day and better weekend. Remember.....be careful and hug your loved ones.

Good morning! 67˚F only heading to the upper 70s with clouds and rain. So far this morning 1/2" rain! The earth worms had scrambled to higher ground - the patio - so I washed them back in the yard, must have been several hundreds.

No more leaking oil on the truck. Even though they said they said everything was tight and they just had to wipe the spilled oil off, I think they tightened something.

Happy birthday Popgadget!

Roy, Margeaux's reaction to having your wife back is priceless.

Rip, looking forward to the conversion pics. This will be fun, thanks for taking us along on the adventure.

Bird we are squeezing the rain out of the clouds pretty good down here and my not have any to spare, sorry.

I ordered a bulk of pepperoni blend spice so I can share with my 50 new friends in the plant-based group at the next monthly meeting.
Now that the garden club has allowed this new group they will get more members who will pay the $15 a year for the membership but they will also be expected to add a plant based option to their yearly gala.

Got an Emil from the leader of the planet-based group who noticed our cell phones had a Houston area code and asked if we knew a Dr. Montgomery. Well, of course, we have eaten in his plant based restaurant in Houston that was connected to his cardiology office.
