i bought the 10 acres across the road from me 5-6 years ago only because the guy that wanted to buy it wanted to build a motocross track for his 3 kids.....no thank you. i called the land owner that i had known for 15+ years and offered cash, 3 day escrow.

i paid $65k for that land, its now valued at over $250K. its nuts what property, especially acreage, is going for over here.

the land sits empty, fenced and cross fenced for grass for my horses. i used to love to ride motocross/dirt bikes as a kid....man, now i feel bad for all the noise i subjected my neighbors to.

Mine were all put into the mailbox directly - no stamp.

If they bother you enough, let your local postmaster know about it, they get very unhappy about people putting things into mailboxes without a stamp and are generally quite happy to inform the people who put it in there that doing so will cause them to face federal charges.

There is a house for sale in our development, just went on the market this week. So, lots of unknown vehicles cruising thru the hood. I was pulling weeds in the flower bed around the big pines and someone stoppped and asked directions. Younger couple with two kids under the age of 8(?). The ice cream truck pulled up just then. We live 8 miles out of town, but lots of kids here, and we’re right on road between the two towns the ice cream truck frequents. Those two kids may be putting pressure on the parents to pick that house…..

When we sold our house we received one of those letters from the buyer, of how they would take such good care of the place blah blah.
They offered us 100k less than we were asking in their letter, we told them to go pound sand.
The next letter from them was for full price and they bought it....
Some people !

That's funny! As far as I'm concerned once the check clears they're free to do whatever they want... build it up or tear it down, the previous owner has no say.

Your asking price was too low?

Did they pay all closing costs, waive inspection And give you 30 days rent free after closing?

/ Love Letters. Real Estate #69
No, they offered 100K lower than our asking price we wanted 850K and they offered 750K.
They paid closing, all inspections were already done by inspectors, and yes we got the 30 days to get out of Dodge.

I just got "my" letter today... Someone looking to move into the area and doesn't want to tear down an old house!!! My house NEEDS to be torn down but at last, I'm not done living in it... come back in 30 years...

We got some letters Saturday from a land buying company located in AZ.

They offered 25%, yes 25%, of the likely value of the land. 👎

They most be smoking something...

Later,

We receive at least two letters a week offering to buy on of our rentals or vacant property. Never had anyone list a price. I just use there phone number and email address to sign up for all kinds of offers.

I like that idea!

It’s been probably 25 years ago we put an offer in on a house. Nice place, bigger than we wanted. Only problem was it needed a well. We went back and forth with the owner twice, he came down something like $250. We gave up quickly and a short time later bought the place we have lived in since.

A week or two later the first guy called me, your not suppose to do that, your suppose to go through the realtors. He didn’t think we were serious buyers and he had done some checking and found out we could afford it. He wanted to know if we were still interested? NO!😡

Now that I know about the love letter thing maybe if we had written him one we could have made the deal happen.

Letters are not so blunt here.
Usually from a Real Estate agent just mentioning that they are looking for properties to list. No direct offers as such. I've only had 2 or 3 of them.
Not interested at this point in time. Just starting major improvements.

Am I the only one to get these offers?

"Want to lease a single acre of your farm for legal dope growing".

Third letter recently (all different senders), in the couple of years since legalization. On letterhead and everything, apparently legitimate realtors.

Oh hell no! Can you imagine the 3am armed trespassers?

What I find amazing is you have over 2,000 posts and that's the first time ever noticed your Avatar LOL

And more realistically than the dope growers, a few Realtor letters per year like this showing what they can do for you. No thanks.

My 11 acre orchard is in apples, not grapes, and I don't have renovated buildings like this so I'm not his ideal customer.
This place he's listing has obviously been bought and flipped, renovated for maximum 'ambiance' (Real Estate buzzword) to sell to some rich San Franciscan as a weekend getaway. Similar ads often show weekend guests sharing a bottle of local premium wine on the deck looking out over the vineyard. Pride of ownership and all that. Farming? What's that?
