No seat-belt laws, cars were built like land yachts, the roof roll-over is solid.

Look at those two, not a single scratch, no blood, and they are standing after the roll-over. Bet if they were careful, getting the vehicle upright would only need a roof paint job. Today's vehicles would be debris all along the highway for a 1/2-mile, vehicle un-recognizable for make and model and the people mercy flighted to a trauma center !

Oh, and look at that LEADED FUEL leak out the back end on the ground. Nothing combusted either !
yeah they handled roll-overs just fine
and fender-benders were just that
hit a shopping cart? what shopping cart
hit a pedestrian? what pedestrian
hit a vw bug? what vw bug. you said there was a driver in it? was.

but
hit a tree? car's fine. sorry about your shattered skull
hit another similar car? hope you picked out a nice casket

Say what you want about regulation, but literally everyone is safer with today's cars (though they cost more and more - but considering the costs of health care, it's a small thing to pay)

There is a video of an older Impala with a newer Malibu on YouTube. People think old cars are so solid but that video was an eye opener. They had crash test dummies and I think it was a small overlap head on. The old car didn’t fair well.

Parts are suppose to come off cars nowadays. Every single little piece that comes off and goes flying takes energy away. Energy that would otherwise go into the car and the people in it.

WOW, thanks for sharing!
This might be the most creative ideas I have ever seen and sad that it is wasted on maybe the worst platform imagineble.
I want to say the axles and brakes failed but I doubt it ever got up enough speed to find out.
I am pretty sure it never climbed a hill although it may have fallen off of one if they were pushing it straight ahead.

I'm not sure if this was hauling wrong, or if I should have posted it up in the "Just in Time" discussion.

Either way, the junk food junkies in this neck of the woods will be going through withdrawal soon.

We have drivers who don't understand weight distribution and that happens when they unhook them. Our dock has fire sprinklers above the trailers along the building. Usually results in water everywhere and the fire department showing up.

Yup.
And I misspoke. That trailer was being unloaded, not loaded. Doesn't excuse how many people missed the fact it was a shorty and would need a tractor under it.
The outside carrier that dropped it there, the shunter in the yard, and the guy unloading all dropped the ball.

Don’t those short trailers usually have a drop leg on the front to stop that from happening?

Not any more, as was mentioned. We used to have only 2 of those pups and you could hook or drop with the leg down on the front. Had to be careful though. Wasn't much room for error.
