Good afternoon folks
Perfect summer day, 77 now dew point 55 nice breeze from the NW at 8mph with good air quality.
It's been a quiet summer so far, either been to hot and humid or to wet to get much outside stuff done. My lungs don't take heat and humidity very well so lots of ac time. Been spending as much time as possible with my sisters, we enjoy each others company and have always gotten along.

I've been way behind keeping up with posts.
Condolences to Step and those who have lost family and friends.
Congrats to those whose anniversaries and birthdays I've missed.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone

Kyle, nice fish she got.

Pulled my game camera pics, raccoon been in the corn. But I husked a couple of the later corn, and it’s just not developing right, so gonna let the raccoons have it. Need to pick the pumpkins.

Mowed yard this afternoon, but not the field. Did mow along creek.

68F and partly cloudy @ 21:30, headed down to a low of 65F for the overnight.

Fill hopper feeder first thing.

Gathered up debris (weeds and trimmings) on the west side and took to compost pile.

Then hauled down another 6 or so bucketloads of screened compost and raked the weeds out of that and hauled them up to the compost pile. About 3 - 4 bucketloads all told.

Grade driveway on way up and back down. Also a little grading over at creek crossing.

Put on pallet forks and add trees to burn pile.

Then put bucket back on.

After that finished up east side mowing and stick pick up.

Then did west side and back mowing and stick pick up.

Hauled down a bucketload of newly screened compost (no weeds ;) ) for the transition into the woods behind the west planting bed, and another for east side (both areas had exposed roots sticking up)

Pulled up two ash saplings in front of rhododendron in circle. Also pushed over an old 7" diameter hawthorn in small place which was looking pretty ragged. It has been here since the house was built in 1970. Still need to free a couple of roots in order to haul it up and dispose of it.

Hauled six bucketloads of dirt from dirt pile over to path through the woods to fill in low area, spread with box blade. Probably still needs more.

Had just started to mow lower front when The Woman showed with my three enchilada dinner from Pancho's. Came inside and ate two along with some rice and refrieds. Third one will be a midnight snack here in a little bit.

Then back on mowing lower front, got that 99% done (under the lights) and decided to knock off at 21:08. Figured the neighbors had probably had enough at that point, and it was starting to get a little foggy.

Deer were out at the apple tree earlier, eating the apples The Woman had knocked down for them.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Made it to the farm today for some work.

Got there and garage door wouldn’t open.

So, I went thru the front door.

Could tell there was something not right.

Turns out there was a bad storm and 4 circuit breakers were tripped. Turned them on and all was ok except for the alarm and the garage door opener.

Got the alarm going but the garage door opener is toast. Verified power to the outlet but the thing is dead.

Opened it up and no visible problems like a bloated capacitor or a fried circuit board.

Given its 15 years old, I guess I’ll just replace the unit. From what I read I’ll probably also have to replace the track. Doesn’t look terribly hard - I’ll just take it step by step. They don’t make the exact unit I had anymore.

Other than the above, it was a very nice day and I got my work complete.

Have a good Monday!

Many times on TBN I have mentioned my Dad; he passed away last Sunday at 85. He was a very proud career Air Force man having served 22 years; and was also a Viet Nam vet. He was a good man...
Our condolences on your family’s loss.

Common for GDO to get taken out by lightning. Hope it didn't get any computer stuff.
