Killing time for the sun to come up and the dew to evaporate, so I can mow, I'll tell a little story about carbon monoxide.
Brand new JD mower, latest emission control, started it up in garage near the rear wall and backed it out of the garage.
CO2 detector on rear wall six feet up wall.
I'm out mowing with headphones on and I keep hearing this beeping.
I take the headphones off, turn off the mower finally, and it keeps going.
It's in the garage...
So back I go and the CO2 monitor is still going off.
I waved it around in fresh air and got it to turn off.
No windows open in the garage, so less than a minute of running put out enough CO2 to
pollute the whole one car garage, which granted isn't that big. (garage door was left open)
Moral of the story. Modern gas engines may not smell bad any more, but there's an invisible killer
there. Dilution is the solution. Now I store the mower outside under a cover.
