Does the land plane count?
Only if it feels like the brake is on and you keep checking the hand brake pull it up and down and push on the foot brake several times thinking it might be stuck, then just shrug and increase the RPMs and take off messing up the ground behind you and then after going 50 feet wonder what is that grinding sound coming from the back of the tractor and turn around and say #%##.

It's official: Lake Oroville broke the all time record low water level last night at midnight. The previous record was 645', as of right now, it's sitting at 643 and getting even lower by the minute. The intakes for the Hyatt Power House are only a few feet from coming fully out of the water, shutting down one of the state's biggest hydroelectric plants, right in the middle of one of the worst heat waves ever...
A good time to do the maintenance on the power house intakes.

I’ve been with State Farm for 37 years and never been disappointed with rates or loss settlements.

I was very happy with State Farm for decades, but they dropped us when the found out that we had more than 4 non-domestic animals. (About 40 more). Now we are with Westfield, so far they have been fine, but we have never had a claim, which is where you get to see where the bear goes through the buckwheat.

Home place is closed BEF really sad

I saw that in their web page today. That was some good food. I’m always looking for good places to eat that aren’t chains.

Got the back field mowed tonight. Son had mowed the yard last Friday before we went camping. Across creek needs mowed, it’s all weeds, but it’s green.

Wife canned 12 qts green beans so far. Picked another 3 cantaloupes, think we have 7 or 8 in the fridge. Picked a few ears of corn. Won’t have much of that, it just didn’t grow good. Large pumpkin vine has quite a few pumpkins.

Since we were discussing grill electric igniters, I ordered a replacement for my Weber.

Next project is to wash the camper, and Change oil in truck and Subaru.

69F and clear @ 21:30, headed down to an overnight low of 58F.

Refilled hopper feeder, spread some cracked corn for the doves, squirrels, and chipmunks.

Got a good bit more spraying done, tank almost empty. Got pump to come back on by jiggering the connections.

The Woman cut down the large weeds (6' tall) underneath the kitchen window and pulled some of the smaller stuff while I was finishing that up. Then I hauled the bucketload of debris up and added it to compost pile. Brought a bucketload of screened compost back down for that area, added it later.

The Woman ran out to the grocery and picked up 4 gallons of ammonia, 3 gallons of vinegar, 2 bottles of dish soap, and 2 packages of mothballs to evict the ground hogs.

Used the cultivator head on the FS 66 to till the soil in that area.

Filled up 65 gallon leg tank and checked for leaks (none) ... then dumped all 65 gallons down one of the ground hog holes by the kitchen window. Interesting that I was able to fill the tank all the way up with no issues.

Used the Kubota to knock over an oak tree growing next the AC unit that was starting to get away, was about 3' - 4' from the foundation. Was probably better than 15' tall and 5" in diameter. That took quite a while before it broke off at ground level or a little below. Managed to avoid doing any damage to the AC unit I think (knock on wood)

Hunted up the cordless drill and a couple of spade bits and drilled a couple of holes in the stump of the Eastern Red Cedar we took down a couple of years ago. I tried to push it before I did this hoping it would come loose but no joy. So I drilled the holes and filled them with muriatic acid. Be interesting to see how long that takes.

Last thing I did before coming in was toss a handful of mothballs down that groundhog hole.

Plans for tomorrow involve jihad on the groundhogs, among other things ... :devilish:

Morning errands went well.
Got tractor refueled, just about ready to strike out with the flail when the skies opened up again, raining intermittently just to keep everything wet.
Spent afternoon piddling about. Sophie probably most pleased that I replaced the UV bulb in the water sterilizer because it stopped beeping.
