Down south, in the Palouse, they are baling hay early this year also. Last week I saw many pole barn already brim full. Some of the wheat field, over near Odessa, look like they are ready for harvest.

Some of that would be nice here. We are in the midst of a 90+ bout of heat &humidity, but up until then, it’s been on the cool/cloudy side with lots of rain.

My weather station here says it's 79* and 85% humidity. The "feels like" temp is 85*. It only gets worse from there. I gotta grab breakfast and get to the barn. Working on multiple projects.

Well, this week nobody will complain about their fresh cut hay getting rained on.

The temps dropped to 74 here - around 5 am. It's already 79 @ 6:30.

Prediction is for 104 today. It hit 109 yesterday.

With the big fans I use to cool the house - somewhat like living in a tornado.

However - I'm able to beat back the "accumulative effect" of heat build up in the house.

It's a challenge since the low AM temps are some 20 degrees higher than normal.

My place hit 111 yesterday as the high. Right now, 0715, its 85 with 32% RH. Feel like TOO DAMN HOT! But it does look like it will start to 'cool off' soon... to 97F as the high on the 4th.
The lows are getting there, at night, down to mid to high 60s. Which is nice.

Good thing we installed AC in the house a few years ago. It has kept my home at about 74F though all this. Though, upstairs feels hotter, and the basement (where I hang out) is nice and cold.

My wife thought it would be a good idea to put a portable humidifier in front of the fan in our bedroom... thinking that the mist would cool down our room, on the upper floor. She has never lived in the south, and does not know what humidity + heat actually feels like. So, in typical male fashion, I mansplained it, ticked her off, and now I sleep in the basement! :ROFLMAO:

Getting high level smoke from the Lava fire near Shasta/Weed. Give the woods a few days on a hair dryer and strike a spark.

Avenger - as your wife's pillow becomes water logged - she will understand your explanation.

Just recieved a notice from PSE that our power bill will be 45% higher than last year for the same period. Don't think we used the AC at all last June, let alone running it 24/7 for the better part of a week.
61° light marine layer with a very light mist falling right now.
