Good Morning!!!! 68F @ 4:15AM. Sunny. High 93F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.
The 10-day is calling for a high of 112F on Friday here. o_O

Nice save on the turkey chicks, Ron. You're pretty fast on the shutter button, too!

Good you found the game cam, Thomas, but does this mean you have more than one bear to keep an eye on now?

Happy trails, Bill.

I got a t-stake fence moved up above the terrace cut yesterday, recycling it from below an old burn pile where it kept burning logs from rolling down the hill. Both the stakes and the fence were bent every which way, so it's not some of my best work, but it should keep someone from falling over the edge in the dark.

Then I finally got a round to removing the concrete forms from the generator pad I poured last year. I needed the stakes to mark where the water pipe trench will go. By the time that was done, it was lunchtime, and by the time I finished lunch, it was nap time. :giggle:

Once I woke up, I went over the flow calculations to verify the pipe size needed to feed both the fire truck and the whole house sprinkler system in a wildfire event. Seems like 2" PVC would provide almost 60 GPM with only 3 PSI pressure drop, and both pumps work at pressures well above that. But I'm not a hydraulic engineer, so I hope I'm not missing something. 500' of PVC ain't cheap, and I'd hate to have to replace it with something larger if it won't pass enough water.

I also read through the installation guide for a water tank, and the manufacturer recommends an expansion joint between the piping and the tank. They give part numbers for a fancy one used by the chemical industry, but I'm wondering if a 3 or 4 foot long run of unsupported PVC pipe running perpendicular to the tank outlet would have enough give in it to do the same thing. The guide has an 800 number in it, so it looks like I'll be on the phone to the manufacturer tomorrow.

This morning I'm going to try to get an earlier start, then knock off for the heat of the day. I want to start the water tank trench, but the backhoe needs grease first.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend...

Good Morning
61 with a high of 78 today. Mostly gray skies with low POP.

Got some shop time in yesterday, I’ve got 3 speakers in progress, so I’ve got to put some time in everyday to keep moving forward. Today’s forecast didn’t look as dry yesterday, so I got out the Lazer and did it’s part of the mowing. Encountered a deer along one of the paths, it didn’t seem to spooked, it just eyed me up while I fished my phone out my pocket to take its picture.

It indulged me and stood still for a few pictures, and then meandered off. You can see the spray from the fountain in the pond in the background.

After I cleaned off the Lazer and put it away, I went back and tinker with the recording from Friday nights rehearsal. I usually record the entire session as one recording, then will pull individual songs or parts of them out and put them in a shared folder, so everyone can hear how it went, and work on the areas that need it.

If it dries up some today, I’ll hook the Progressive mower up to the Kubota, and get the large open areas mowed. While I wait for it to dry out, I’ll spend some time in the shop moving these speakers along. Maybe Grandson will ride in the tractor with me this afternoon. He likes machinery, just like me.

Ton, good save on the poults!
Wngsprd, congrats to the family.

60-81 today, 71 now. Church, then to Lowe’s to pick up toilet seat, tow behind spreader, Spectracide bug crystals and a couple a bags of stone for Charlie’s gravesite. Then to father in laws for a memorial for my wife’s sister who died a year ago. Other than that nothing on the schedule.
I sold my old spreader about five years ago, no idea why.

Y’all have a great Sunday and God bless you all.

When I have to install multiple v belts often I will install one then while manually rolling the unit over,
then walk that belt across the pulley one grove at a time. Some times starting the second as soon as the first is clear of the first set of grooves.
Occasionally I will have to use power to get the belts to walk over a groove at a time..

Have you considered poly pipe for your main run,
less fittings, somewhat flexible, could even have a mild U shape for flexibility coming of the tank.

76F and "Fair" @ 11:30, HI 78F, headed up to a high of around 83F with chances of a shower or thunderstorm developing this afternoon.

Apparently that has already happened, woke up earlier to multiple "Dangerous Lighting Nearby" alerts on my phone. Evidently I slept through whatever came through but the ground is wet here so it did rain. One local station showed 0.13" of accumulation ... so probably will not need to water that new grass ... (y)

Suspect there are some plants that could still use more water however.

What I get into today is going to depend on just how wet it is outside.

I'm sure that Japanese yew at the southeast corner of the house still could use some water before it gets ripped out.

Also have the end of a 2" conduit line that runs over to the pole barn that needs dug out so the last section into the house can be installed.

These are both things that need to be done before I can really start on building the retaining wall on the east side of the house.

Mower deck cleaning and new blades installed still need doing on the Cub, so digging the motorcycle/atv jack out of the shop and bringing down to the house will be on the agenda.

... and other items too numerous to mention ...

Hope everyone has an enjoyable Sunday.
