Get fired due to a social media post? It happens all the time folks.

It sure does, and if you’re using your personal account and not posting about work or acting as an agent of your employer, I have a problem with that too. But then I admit personal liberty is kind of a trigger for me. IMO the government, my boss or my neighbor shouldn’t have any say in what I do in my personal time if it doesn’t materially impact them or my job performance. That’s not how the winds are blowing however.

Those winds started blowing with the Patriot Act... Americans rolled over for that one.

I agree with you. Angry mobs shouldn’t rule.

Turn on the tv if you need proof or watch the Portland riots

This website is about the extent of my “social media”.
I really feel sorry for those who blather on FB or Twitter. I also supported the previous administration with a few Twitter “likes”, but never expressed anything other than that. My checkbook, may have, though. (y)
Not really worried since I have been self employed for over 30 years, but I don’t need angry mobs showing up at my house or to lose my job because I support someone.

I find it interesting (and if you really research it and are honest: racist) that it took a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT to prohibit alcohol but one wasn’t required to ban a naturally growing plant.

I bet if testing was advanced enough that it showed you took a drink 2 weeks ago and you could be fired for doing so, I’d bet a lot of people on here would change their opinion about drug tests.

.... this is definitely a topic to discuss when you standing around the company’s free drug dispenser they use to stimulate employees.....a.k.a...the coffee machine.

.....and think how you’d feel having to explain to a widow and her children that her husband was run over by a D10 by some operator hopped up and inpatient on 3 cups of coffee.
THINK OF THE CHILDREN!

Gotta love the “WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN!?” Phrase.
IMO, that was the earliest virtue signal. :poop:

I went to my favorite (easily the most consistent) restaurant for dinner Friday night. The Caesar salad came with a small tub of Dale’s dressing. Good grief.

The grouper plate tasted a bit like fish sticks, perhaps it was freezer burn. The tartar sauce was also not made on site.

None of this is how things were handled before.

I’m happy he is still in business and I feel for him since he obviously no longer has access to competent staff.

Most of the servers are family members and I’m sure that is the only reason he still opens the doors.

This morning I went to Waffle House to get breakfast after the gym . Only half the booths were open due to short staffing. The server was bussing the table as I ate lol

I’m done.

Initially I felt a bit guilty for buying a Big Green Egg grill last summer. They aren’t cheap but what comes off that grill is better than anything that comes from a restaurant. They way things are now, I feel like I made the right move.

You wouldn’t believe the pizzas!
You think going ut to eat is the big problem? Ha....The plants that process the food going on the store shelves is slowing way down too. The free handouts and Covid crazy stuff has crippled our nation.

Why buy coffee by the cup when you can make it at home? Such a waste of money tsk tsk

I go in, touch base with all of the old retired fahts at the store, give my dollar and go to work. It's a lot more convenient than cleaning the percolator before leaving the house every morning.

What is a percolator?

I ask my son to make coffee and he says “sure Dad. I’ll put the Pod in the machine for you”.

He wouldn’t know a percolator from a carburetor.
