RS a little later than normal for snow?

Nah ... it's not a typical (regular) feature for this time of year, but I wouldn't say it is high unusual either.

Average last freeze here is April 29th.

Earliest is April 2nd.

Latest was June 11th ... which happened back in 1972.

So the possibility of snowfall wouldn't be out of the question through the end of April, and even into May.

Hope mower research is going well.

Thanks.

RS ground hod out quick after snow melt

Yeah - it melts pretty quick once the ground has warmed up some.

Ted, I had almost the identical greenhouse, loved it, mine was a Palram made in Israel.
Highly recommend you get a remote temp sensor for greenhouse, as once the sun comes out,
even with roof panel open and door open, it can get close to 100 in there.
I ran a floor fan in mine for awhile to extend its usefulness but after a certain point, granted
in hotter NC, it just got too hot inside to grow anything. Though I never tried cactus...

I'm envious, I'd love to have my greenhouse back.
Yes, we have a remote thermometer that will be placed inside. I can see temps going through the roof (literally), especially with the intense sun at our elevation. I have been contemplating getting one of the auto openers for the vent.

Maybe getting another greenhouse could be your next project..... might come in useful up in colder Bucks Co.

I think you have colder winters and hotter summers. Really depends upon what you want to grow and what time of year to grow it.
I had propane nearby so piped in to a 20k heater and that worked nicely keeping this size above 60 in 20 degrees. I'm assuming if it went to zero
then if might be iffy inside this without perhaps adding another layer of insulation like a wrap around the whole thing.

As I always battled the heat in mine, much more than the cold, and remember thinking I should be growing cactus
or something indestructible in there. Not only grow new plants in there but also have few permanent ones for decoration.
Have fun. Lot of little parts. I set mine on 4x4s sunk in the ground and making a picture frame bottom underneath. Then screwed into wood and never
had a problem in three years. Well, that roof window will blow off in high winds so remember to shut it at least half way or it does a Mary Poppins on you.

67°F and zero rain

Looks like a day of mowing ahead.

Guys vs Girls Hand & Foot this afternoon. Kirkland stuffed crab on the menu. Sophie going to try her hand at homemade Mac&Cheese, not my favorite dish, but why not.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Sadamo, since you don't need the greenhouse for frost is it for bugs?

Combination of factors, Don.
Basically I see this more for hydroponics.
We have quite poor soil, so I expect I’ll be limiting in grown growing.
Bugs can be a factor and likely easier to control.
Our rain patterns are a concern.
Growing in shelters is quite common here, usually a hoop style, covered affair.
And then this would be just outside of kitchen, very convenient.

Guy down the road from me put up a large greenhouse this winter. they just got it covered in plastic. Has a door they can drive their tractor inside. Has vent fan at one end.

We probably won't be doing anything in winter except for some evergreen seedlings, which better be able to withstand the cold...

Of course some veggies and flowers, but they will only live in there a short time.

I figured the 4x6 PT base will hold it down, planning to screw the greenhouse to them. If needed, I'll use some earth anchors secured to the 4x6's.
