In this post ( Forestry mulchers: drum or disk? ), there are two images. One is over 8m, the other is over 11M. There is simply no valid reason for images to be that large in file size. Most forums I've been part of limit upload sizes and won't accept images as large as those two. We need to remember that many people are still on low bandwidth connections, some still on various dialup plans, others on limited speed DSL or cellular programs. Others are on satellite or cable plans with daily bandwidth limits.

Consider imposing such upload limits here. 1Mb should be much more than sufficient.

Yep, I was hoping the new version would take care of that problem.

I clicked the link, then clicked the 11.9 MB picture. It took ten seconds to show up. Fortunately I have an unlimited data plan.

Didn't we have a limit size at one time??? I can't remember what I had for breakfast but seems like I always to resize pics before posting them. I think X even taught me how.

Okay boomer.

Sorry, debil made me do it :ROFLMAO:

But seriously, most forums do limit the sizes automatically and especially from mobile large pics are a pain in the rear.

Yes it was reduced from 10MB to 1MB with no warning. Nothing would happen when uploading.
Then it was set back to 10MB

Yep, the ole memory is still working. (y)

Both, and mine is a lot older than yours.

It would be even better if the forum would resize the pictures during upload, so we don't have to do it manually.

Pretty much like the avatar feature works. It will resize automatically, I think.

Important to note that 're-sizing' can mean two different things. Changing the height and width is not the same as reducing the file size. That can only be done by compression. Most photo editors do it well. I use Irfanview.

Every photo I post I reduce the size to somewhere about 500kb size. That's plenty to fill a large computer monitor screen, much less the smart phone screen most people work the web with. No idea how to reduce the size of a photo on a smart phone but on a Windows computer, the included Paint program makes it a simple and 10 second procedure.

I'm the same way...my internet connection is super slow (hurry up, Starlink!) and if I see a photo is taking a while to load up I just stop the download and move on.

When I open photos on posts, I open them in another window. If they're loading slow, I just keep reading and come back to it later after it loads.
