Fixed, I think.....

 Is that from the trees which you used to build your bridge? I haven't burned oak since moving out of my parent's house back in 1980... I have to settle for rock maple and beech.

Yep all from bridge logs, I'm putting all the oak in separate pile just in case theres more wood then I need, if so that'll give more time for it to dry out. 3-4 year old oak makes good firewood but so doesn't beech but beech dont stay solid outside more then a year for me.

Finally got a good pic of the Branson and a decent load of wood. Guy down the road is a tree service guy. Had a load of silver maple he wasn't going to use so he gave it to me. Maple is my favorite wood to burn in the stove. We live in a small 1000 sqft house and the climate is such here in SE Tennessee where we don't need the high BTU woods. If I burn oak and hickory all day our house turns into a sweat lodge. Maple coals up nice, seasons quickly and puts out sufficient heat.

My Oma used to say: he who heats with wood is twice heated (or maybe thrice, but not sure which is the 3rd/thrice time).

Found a couple of weird things today. A couple of you guys might like this mouse nest made from a recycled snake skin that was in the wood shed. Nothing strange about a mouse nest or a snake skin in the shed - find lots of them. But never a nest made from a skin.

Then I came across this funny balsam fir while I was working.

Depends on how you count. 1- cut and split. 2- move/transport to firebox. 3- burn
