Growing up the only time the house was heated was around the holidays when grandparents and great aunt's came to visit...

Dad always worked outside and would say home heating was throwing money out the window... extra blankets in the closet if needed.

Oakland CA has near ideal weather based on the number of heating and cooling days annually.

Funny thing on my time in Austria in winter... my hosts would often turn up the heat so the Californian wouldn't be cold... the warmest winter in my life was that winter in the Alps...

I kinda like my woodstove down cellar but if I had a outside wood boiler I'd make one of these wood loaders.

It has a group 31 in it, new about 1-1/2 yrs. ago... It also has synthetic oil in it.

Lucky you, that you didn't have to go out in it. lol

When my tractor was new it would barely turn over now without block heater it wont when in single fidgets...........
And there is absolutely no reason to go in the woods when in the single numbers unless theres a major 6 P malfunction on your part, but go ahead give me a for instance............

I didn't say anything about setting standards on anyone, but when someone says they have to go in the woods on a 7* morning, one with half normal reasoning would say are you crazzy or just want a reason to brag how my tractor starts better than your tractor story, ok you win your tractor is the best, happy now......

When I was professionally logging, we had two temps where we didn't have to work. 10* and 90*. I'd eat tree frogs before I'd ever go out and do wood again in summer.

40 years ago I worked a couple winters with someone with 440JD skidder that when it went down to sub 0 weather he'd only work from 10-2, then I was a few years for another outfit that had 540Jd grapple skidders with cab, with heat so in the winter they have me go in 4am on cold Jan mornings to yank out wood for chipper. That was great going through the woods before the rooster was up, cold, dark, with headlights and heater on, now that was fun with the ultimate 4x4.....
