Looks like we might be setting up for our first ice storm in about 20 years. If the cold front settles just along the MD/DE Line like it looks as if it could. If it goes 10 miles south we will get snow, 10 miles north and we get rain.

Got that little antique stool screwed and glued but not tattooed, I’ll upholster it tomorrow. Can’t wait for my pie in payment.

I have thought that the flat tax would be a good idea in the past. A guy making 40k a year would be more financially burdened than a guy making 1 million a year. I don't think that would be fair but that is just me!

Yea, I used to think that as well, but the reality is a flat tax of x% is actually same burden at all levels when you consider that in many cases that lower income enjoys they same benefits.

Compare that to our horrendous property tax system.
A $500k property pays 5x the tax of a $100k property. Does it enjoy 5x the benefit? More than like it enjoys even less because in my experience most likely it’s the lower taxed property using more, police, fire, garbage, more residents using more services. I know that for a fact where I live. I know that it’s the inverse for me personnaly.

booked a 100 percent refundable cruise to Newport RI and Bermuda in June, out of Liberty NJ.
Been there, done this several times, betting on the world being safer by then.
Got a nice balcony room on Penthouse floor, midships, so most stable part of ship. They had one
left of a room with an extra wide ocean view. I have until mid March to cancel.
Have been on this Celebrity Summit several times before, including the Royal Suite with my late wife.
That was the time I let her pick the room. The grand piano was nice and she actually played it.
Now I'm among the commoners but in a better than average room. One of my criteria was to hide the bedroom
so one person could take a nap and other could be up.

now I just have to find someone to take with me.

Boy!! That berthing area sure ain't the USS Saratoga!!!

Good morning.
It’s 19 with a high of 35 forecast, chance of snow showers.

Yesterday was a relaxing day, I did shovel out around the shop heat pump, generator storage shed doors.
The pop up repair task for the day was a Mesa Boogie guitar amplifier. Luckily it was an easy fix, it must have seen a power surge and took out an MOV. I was impressed with the design and construction, it was very well made.

Kyle, I still putter around on a trials bike, but it’s a few decades newer than Sammy Miller’s BSA, it’s only 37 years old.

I’m the older rider.......

Daughter was fine, damage to her car was not too bad, but it’s definitely going to the body shop.

Still no vaccine.

I saw a Mesa Boogie on a military base auction once, and was flabbergasted when it went for so much money.

Nice Fantic....and cute grandkid?

For those interested in Starlink:

Starlink

My confirmation said 2022 for our area, but I let the come first served trigger me. I can park $99 for a bit. Gives me hope.

$499 for equipment and $99 per month. Reasonable. The line of sight service I have now is $75ish, no limit or metering, but only about 6mg max download. I would say 3 people can be watching video on screens at the same time, usually, but not always.

We are not rescheduling our Bermuda cruise from last year unless and until this pandemic is under better control. I won稚 enjoy 10 days of cruising and sight seeing with a mask and social distancing.

Drew I came close to booking two weeks ago ago a cruise in December, Had the cabin on hold for 24 hours. The cruise could be canceled up to 48 hours before it left, but you would only get credit for another cruise within the next year. Good prices are to be had but I feel like Randy if they require facemark on everyone, it just would not feel like a vacation. I'm looking at another date a year from now. Canada just banned cruises till 2022 really cutting out the Alaska Cruises set for later this Summer. Apparently if a cruise ship is registered in another country it cannot leave the US without stopping in at least one other country. Some silly law.

46˚F. polar vortex flipping over on us this weekend has the grocery stores packed. Predicting temps for us as low as 14˚F with snow.

FireWise was this morning. Our assignment was a half mile long ditch which had brush in it and was overflowing into yards. Ditch cleared. Pic is about 1/8 of the total ditch. Our neighborhood is to the left.

The Fantic belonged to a friend that I used to ride and compete with. Back then I rode a Montessa 348. When he passed about 5 years ago his family gave me the Fantic which had been sitting neglected in a shed for decades. I made a winter project out of putting it back on its feet. Yup that’s my grandson.
I feel guilty about my internet speed, I’m rural and a quarter mile from the road, Verizon ran fiber back to me at no charge other than the monthly service.

That’s via WIFI on my iPad.
