That blade angel might also give a smother cut, it's one of a kind for sure. Now if they just had all the add on features that Norwood has it would be a good contender.
I didn't see that it helped that, at all, it looked just like the same cut I've had with any of the other bandsaws I've used.

Smoothness of the cut, is really all about the band used, sharpness, and then "mostly" about the "set".

Besides with that blade on an angle there would be more of it in the log after it gets going which makes the motor work harder pulling it through.

Everybody or their brother has a mill... except me. However, I can get custom sawing done for 300$/thousand. Until recently I could cut the trees down, sell them, and buy a kiln dried 2x4 for less money then it cost to saw it. Then I also only pay for what I want, whereas when sawing a tree always seems to end up with a lot more lumber which you may or may not use.

That statement above is completely FALSE!!! My brother does NOT have a sawmill!

So here in Texas, over the past years, there has not been much of a reason for fires in the wood stove. Last year we only had 4 fires, and the house got way hot on each occasion. I will not start a fire unless the whole day will be under 40 degrees. This year we have had only one fire. Well. . . This next week we will have 4 days that it will not get out of the 30s, with lows in the 20s and one day in the teens. Though, I enjoyed cutting and splitting the wood, I can tell this would get old if I had the winters like you folks have up north. Cutting and splitting wood is a game for young men. My back is hurting today! ! !

Becomes a game of routine and efficiency. I grew up splitting by hand and still able to. The old tire trick practically doubled my efficiency. I’m sure if I remain here for the remainder of time, I’ll eye up a log splitter. I had a neighbor that split wood until he died and I’m convinced it kept him alive. Maybe I go the city slicker route? I’ve got friends with clients that pay them to deliver and stack the wood in their shed; that’s how lazy they are. Seemed to be the way of the world now a days.

So what is the tire trick. I split with a maul and wedges for a long long time and some how never heard of it.

Put your rounds into an old tire when splitting by hand. Most the time, the round will remain inside the tire allowing you to take a step to the side and keep on splitting. The saver is NOT having to bend over and readjust your round every time.
