RNG there is some doubt about the vitamin D since Brazil, which sits on the equator, and the people are full of D, and they really got hit hard with Covid. It could be that the unhealthy people have a deficiency in vitamin D. Anyways the dosage you are taking will not cause Vitamin D toxicity which is really bad on the kidneys. Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin and will accumulate in the body, I just hope in a few months we don't see a lot of kidney problems from D toxicity.

We had .62" of rain today in the cocorahs gauge and .58" bounce off the Tempest weather station
The cocorahs is the gold standard.

Good evening. It was 56° and racing at day break, rained off and on all morning, but eventually got up to 64° this afternoon. The sun came out about 2 p.m., resulting in a very nice afternoon.

Our forecast says we'll see high 60's to low 70's the next 4 days until next cold (cooler) front passes thru .. on Thursday.

I spent most of the day in the shop completing several small projects and then more shop organization.

The shop building includes 1200 sq. ft. quarters, we spent weekends in .. before building the ranch house ten years ago. The quarters have become a "catch all" since I retired so .. I'm focused on going thru everything and sorting everything into keep / donate / recycle / trash. I replaced the constantly flickering, crappy, fluorescent fixture, above the sink, with an LED, direct wire fixture. What a difference.

Getting ready for our first annual OVFD "Turkey Fry", this Wednesday , to benefit our New Building Fund. We advertised 12-15# fried turkeys for $35 to the local area and the response was surprisingly good. Seems everyone really loves fried Turkey .. if they don't have to clean up after. About eight of us will be bringing our frying rigs to the VFD Wednesday morning and we'll start distribution about 2 p.m.

We also made a great deal, with Berdoll Pecans, to sell their Pecan Pies, for a nice profit as well.

If this goes well .. we might expand to adding "smoked turkeys" next year and "advertise" to a larger local area.

Hope everyone has a safe and peaceful Sunday.

Prayers to all.

At my annual physical, back in September, my Doc told me my daily multi-vitamin gives me sufficient Vitamin D.

Generally our deliveries have been on time, even early for a couple.

We've had the same UPS and USPS folks for about ten years and both very reliable. FEDEX is good .. but they deliver to us, from multiple locations so .. several different delivery folks.

The only hiccups we've had recently .. is the interface between Amazon and USPS. For instance .. I ordered a 100' roll of #24 gauge red / black wire, for adding lights, horn, etc. to our new Polaris Ranger. The first roll delivered, on time (Amazon Prime), but .. the flange on one side of the plastic spool was broken, held together only by the label. I contacted Amazon, set up a return / exchange for another spool of same wire. Two days later USPS tracking indicated Amazon had dropped it at our local post office. Ten days later it was declared LOST and .. that I could now request a refund. I contacted Amazon and requested a 3rd roll of wire be sent by priority shipping, and not USPS. 11 days later, an undamaged roll finally showed up .. in my mail box.

Coffee is brewing. 34° with fog this morning. Heading to 36° with cloudy skies. Never got a single drop of liquid from the sky yesterday. Went east of my. So no snow removal today. Doing what many would call spring cleaning in the house. So will continue with that today. Just have no idea what I am going to do when spring does arrive next year.

My deliveries have been pretty good lately. Nothing like the 2 month delay on a package missing in the system from USPS. Had one delay last week. Shipper had put label on package so half was on top and side. Someone finally hand scanned the bar code. I wonder how many packages like that are slowing the system down.

Prayers and best wishes for all.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, the temperature is 29°F and the high should be 36. Wind ESE 8 mph.
A couple of inches of snow came overnight and we will be getting a 'mixed bag' today.

I didn't get to the trees yesterday. A plugged sink was more important. Junior wanted to get the snake out, I told him to pull the plug on the 'P' trap and run a big zip tie up and see what he could feel. Sure enough, grease from the sink. I keep telling them NOT to put grease down the sink and they keep saying that they don't and yet the trap was full of grease. I guess there is a phantom grease monkey that puts the grease in the sink overnight while we are sleeping.

The trees are going to get done today, come **** or high water.

As for plowing today, well I will leave the 2" of fresh snow we got until after the temperature goes back down below freezing and the freezing rain stops. I don't mind up to 1/2" of freezing rain on top of fresh snow, my 240 lbs will bust through the ice crust and the snow underneath will make for a soft landing spot if I do fall. The ice on top of a hard surface is what makes things so slick. On top of fresh snow not so much.

I have an arrangement with Canada Post, in summer large packages get delivered right to the door, but in winter after the first snow it is their choice and I would rather they held them at the PO and leave me a card. The mail lady has this P.O.S. that is only one wheel drive and couldn't pull the skin off a peach. I don't want to be pulling her out of the ditch. When her Dad did the mail he used his own 4x4 and always got through. The PO supplied the p.o.s. she has now and wont pay her mileage on her personal 4x4.

Canpar and Fed Ex delivers to the door regardless of the weather. Purolator motors right past my door to go to the Township office and will NOT drop anything at the house, we have to go to the drop spot in town to get their stuff.

Have a safe day all
