I picked up my son's new trailer Monday, Diamond C FMAX212, 102"x32' w/Max ramps, 25.9k gvw. Round trip to Mesa, 340 miles, 21.5 gal=15.81 mpg, not bad for a 20 year old truck.

Dang, seeing my son's new Diamond C trailer might push me over the edge. I have been looking/researching the Diamond C, FMAX208 for some time now and have several quotes. Two dealers in Texas and one in Utah are all real close. One in Colorado wanted to sell everything on their lot but what I wanted, Arizona did not respond. Not surprised, plus they would be way more anyway.

The trailer is a 102"x28', max ramps, sway control, winch plate/receiver, drivers side tool box, ratchet rail on the driver side with 6 winches, spare tire (17.5) with 8k torsion axles. About 2k in options w/18k gvw. This will include the 16" engineered beam main frame and Fleetneck gooseneck w/bolt on jacks. They claim they are the strongest and lightest on the market. My son's trailer is 7300 lbs, same as my 22k dump.

Wow that’s nice!
When I priced their 30k in a 35’ with deck on neck it was over 20 grand. Just didn’t have the legal payload I was looking for.

Those are some nice trailers. What will your son be hauling on his ? And you, on yours?

Thanks

Thanks, I am proud of his trucks and trailers:D

It's not in the category of your monster trailer but still a good one. He just bought a Ram 5500 like yours because his 3500's were too small, same as his Big Tex. So he sold it, so he could buy the Diamond C, he needs the higher GVW.

He rents Cat equipment by the job and is over weight with the smaller rigs. He hauls stuff like this.

I haul equipment for friends here and there, but its a BIG deal in PA if you haul equipment for money without the proper credentials...
I wish we could go back to the old days where you could do what you want, but were held accountable if you screwed up.
So tired of all the “gotchas” in the motor vehicle codes.

Love AZ. Vacationed there and S. Utah many times. Seems a lot more laid back, and less cold weather :D

Thanks, they are nice trailers. My son hauls heavy all the time with his concrete business. A lot of rebar, some is huge. Then he has a Kubota track skid steer and Cat mini ex that he hauls at the same time. The 22k gvw Big Tex was too small.

Some Rebar: He does a lot of cell tower bases, some are huge. Sometime he hires me to help haul, I like that because I get to see some awesome stuff:)

I went ahead and placed the order today. Tomorrow is the last day to order for this year, so, due to a price increase next year, I moved on it.

Is that your son's Dodge 5500? It's a nice truck!
