Good morning!!!!

Good Morning. It’s 31 and clear here today, I don’t expect to see 40.
Yesterday’s trip went well, today has me off to Newport News. I have to go to Martha’s Vineyard tomorrow making three days in a row. However looking at the schedule, I’m free until Christmas.

I’ll be home in plenty of time to fire up the smoker today. There is no special event planned, but the smoker is fair sized, these shoulders will only be about thirty percent of what it can hold.
I usually give away most of what I smoke to my neighbors, but pulled pork keeps and reheats pretty well. And Drew, you would qualify as a neighbor.

It is still too wet to do anything outside. I wouldn’t even drive the carryall to my son’s. At least the walk is good for me. I actually had a dream last night that a delivery truck pulled off the pavement and completely disappeared like it was quicksand.

Good morning! 35˚F heading to the 60s.
Welcome back Rick. Your buyer horror stories make my farm sale seem like paradise. My buyers bought everything I could not take with me and let me rent back for a month so only one move was needed.

FireWise today will be a bit different, instead of cedar/brush removal we will be doing rock removal so the mowers can keep the area clean.

Good luck on the bread Eric. My bread is still too dense to win any awards. A pic of the sliced loaf if your's turns out good.

Poured first cup of coffee. 16° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 38° with a mix of sun and clouds. Got all the vases stored away in cellar. Just never know when you will need one. No plans for today.
Getting last bit of suet.

Mostly, good looking side curtains. Good idea on the vases. They are stored out of the way for now. About 50 of them.

Rick, welcome back. Sorry to hear about house sale. I have heard about those kind of buyers. Hope they never need any info on the house from you. When I sold my mothers house. Buyer did all the items on inspection list. I offered to help. But they did It all. Good luck catching up on GM. I have trouble some days keeping on for one day.

Eric, hope the vaccine works good for everyone that gets it.

Looking, all the miles I drove on the 400 series highways and other Canadian highways I never got stopped for speeding. When I got on the 401 I would set the cruise control at 62 mph. Every time a car passed me I would hit the button to advance set speed. Some trips I would be doing over 80 by the time I hit western side of Toronto. Still getting passed. :confused2:

Alien, nice place. Hope it sells with out problems.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Just saw that General Chuck Yeager passed today at age 97 years.

RIP General Yeager.

Chuck Yeager - Wikipedia

He set the New York to Paris speed record in one of our airplanes, which still stands.
I had a few meals with him over the years. and can say that he was very proud of himself, but rightfully so. I heard many of his contemporaries say that he was probably even better than he thought he was. A truly extraordinary pilot.

27 going to 47 and sunny. Snow was a flop yesterday...snowed all morning but none stuck.

Sure is good to have you back, Rick...good idea making a year end push for the VFD.

Alien, real nice place...185 acres would be nice...never heard of an iron roof...wonder is that the same as what we call steel roof?

Mostly, your lights look great.

Good morning all

24 now high around 32 and cloudy with winds around 10 today.

Yesterday was a do nothing day, everything outside is frozen solid. If the weather guessers are right it should be in the 40’s by weeks end.

Not much planned for today, pay some bills and the real estate taxes.
Will take the rest of the day as it comes.

Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your day everyone

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 4:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 67F. Winds light and variable.
Still more rain later next week in the 10-day.

Nice to see you back, Rick, but sorry you had such a rough time with the home sale. Been through that twice now, and both times all I had to do to shut 'em up was to threaten to take the house off the market.

Those woodpeckers are quite the acrobats, Ron. Around here, they're also quite vocal, calling to each other as they hop scotch through the trees looking for food.

Sorry to hear about General Yeager, but what a life! They just don't make 'em like that anymore.

Learned that a former supervisor of mine passed recently; he was another good one. Young, too, about my age.

That's some good news about the vaccine, Eric. Sensible deployment priorities, too. Good luck with the bread.

Hope your sale goes smoothly, Doug, and that the cooler weather sticks around.

I saw on the news last night that new CoVid cases are almost 8,000/day in California now. Some areas close by are seeing 20% positive in testing. And that the majority of the state is under stay-at-home orders because critical care bed availability has dropped below 15%. Glad I don't have to be anywhere else for a while.

Nice to read the new Makita worked out for you, Paul. I'd probably use a chainsaw more if starting it for the first time in a while wasn't such a PITA, so I might have to check one out. BBQ:licking:

Got waylaid by the muffler on the van yesterday, which apparently has been leaking all this time. Eventually figured out that a poorly placed and made weld on an O2 sensor bung was keeping the muffler from seating all the way onto the cat. Got it cleaned up, but it took a while and several put-it-together-take-it-apart cycles to sus it out. Then started in on the oil pan mods, first removing the dip stick tube. It was brazed in, and it took a rosebud on the oxy-acetylene to get it hot enough to come loose. Welded a patch over the hole, then measured one last time before cutting the bottom out of the pan with a zip disc in the angle grinder. Cleaned up the cut with the big belt sander, and just need to get a little more slope for drainage before welding on the new bottom today.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Chuck Yeager, he was one of my heroes as a child.
I did meet and talk to Dick Cole who was Doolittle’s co pilot in the Tokyo raid of 1942. He was a guest speaker at our wings and wheels show in Georgetown DE for several years. At 101 he was dancing until about 1AM the night before the show. He could out walk anyone there and his handshake hurt. He recently passed away also.
I’m sorry to lose these people of that generation, it was one of a kind.

Good morning all, 27 going up to 32 and grey
Didn't get much done yesterday due to day job.

Rick - sorry to hear about crazy buyers. Hope this all gets cleared up. They are not making friends this way, how do they expect you to get them a friendly walk through when they cause so many issues? Welcome back!

Alien - wonderful land you had there, always nice to have good memories.
Mostly - lights look great!
Drew - hope all goes well at hospital
Eric - have a bread maker and haven't looked back :)
Rip - hope the $ stays relatively low and can reuse some of the septic
RNG - sorry to hear about your former supervisor

Will Miss the Chuck stories and was a real hero of mine growing up. Got to work with some people who knew him, they all liked him immensely.

Stay safe and be well
