Did you guys have a wet snow on top of unfrozen ground also?
That pic was on my way home an hour ago, went out at 4:30 this morning. I hate plowing mud!

Yes we do have mud only got about 3'' of wet snow, But I have a paved driveway...

we have had a few snow days this season since late October, but have only needed to plow 1 time so far. now there predicting snow on and off for 8 days coming later this week. dont know if it will happen, but what snow we have had is still hanging around and BURR is it cold. so i decided to chain the tractor up today inside the heated shop. ground has remained icy for past week. 20201206_120957.jpg 20201206_121142.jpg 20201206_121241.jpg

also while testing everything i found out that 1/4 of the lights in the Whelen LED beacon are dead. leds last forever...my butt. this is a $400 strobe. i just emailed Whelen to see if they can repair it.

Beats putting chains on when the tractor's in a muddy icey ditch at a 40* angle and snowing sideways.
You know sadly I'd bet that those Whelan lights were made in China. I went through this after the led craze started. I bought a pair of ECCO (a good USA co. out of ID) LED work led's. For years I've used Hela dual bulb halogens, a great light but the bright light of LEDs got my attention. Hooked the bare light to a battery in the dark shop and was not overly impressed compared to the Hela's for the same money. So while procrastinating returning them I ordered same power, led count and arrangement and physical appearance from eBay, 4 for the price of 1 Ecco. They arrived and were identical, I mean identical with the exception of a very minor difference in the mounting hardware. I wired both to the same battery and tested as before and that was also identical.
The expensive lights were returned and I'm at about 4-5 years in with them and 1 of those is getting a little duller than the others but all the individual led's are working. They are so inexpensive that I kept 4 EXTRA lamps on hand being a skeptic.
I did mention "sadly" above. Oh, and the USA company 's lights were also made it China, said right on the box.
It would be different if my extra money was for my neighbors job, but simply putting foreign stuff in a USA box and marking it waaaaay up. Nope.

Nice
Around here, there's no fancy surfaces to damage, infact if I get to plow normal asphalt I feel rather special
Have you had a chance to use the pusher yet?

Nope - lake effect missed us and hit NW Indiana. I jinxed myself since buying the pusher. I was asked to do a drive with circle. I took the tractor and pusher there and showed her how it wasn’t going to work to well unless they removed the drive/lawn stakes.

i swapped out the factory cab halogen lamps for Cree leds on my tractor back in 2014. i also bought 4 extra just in case, as they wernt too expensive. i have had zero issues with them. major increase in brightness over halogen. fit in same space as the factory, but took the good part of a day to install as the roof of tractor had to be raised. its amazing how bright these puppies are. i have to remember to shut them off if driving on road so as not to blind oncoming cars. They really help when moving snow in the evenings. 20201206_121615.jpg
