Good morning all. Nice and cosy in the kitchen this morning, the Esse range is still pumping out heat from last nights hawthorn logs. Always a little sad when having to copice really old hawthorn (100 year+), regrowth is no where near as successful when they get to that age, though I am always thankful for the logs, they are my favourite, always eager to give out lots of heat. Do you have a favourite firewood ?

Hopefully that was not too long winded of an explanation, I often suffer from the delusion that everyone shares my obsession with how things work.

Not at all, discovering how things do/don't work is part of the fascination of "Good Morning".

BTW Popgadget, thanks for starting one of the most unusual guessing games we have had in quite a while - "How many days before someone passes out from sniffing unwashed Alpaca socks". Are you still counting Drew ?

Good morning, the temperature is 17°F and going to 25. Wind N 9 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

No snow overnight.

An energy conservation day for sure.

My favourite firewood is Beech, Oak and Maple come in a dismal second place.

Have a safe day all

35 right now, according to Weather Underground...high in the upper 30's today. Rain developing later in the day, then we'll just how to see things go. Quite a bit of uncertainty in the forecast, but (depending on who you want to believe) we could see anywhere between 2 and 9 inches of snow...probably wet heavy stuff.

Chores today...definitely a dump run...it's been 3 weeks, so I've a full load to go. After that, I need to find a place to stow my summer tires....probably one of the outbuildings.

After that, we'll take it as it comes...

Coffee has been poured. 26° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to a mix of sun and clouds. Got grocery shopping done. Should be good until next year. Except for milk and fresh foods. Store was well stocked. Got books and shelves cleaned off. Local library is closed. Not accepting anything at this time.
Take my aunt to hair dresser today. Then will see what day brings.

Drew, interesting article. I live 2 miles north of a freeway on the side of a hill. All the water drains in the Huron River water shed. Which feeds into lake Erie. Have not heard of any large fish kills lately.

Popgadget, nice house and garage.

Alien, stay cool.

Buppies, stay dry.

Kyle, hope you get parts and bike back together before Xmas.

David, since I am not doing work on RV's anymore I have a whole cabinet full of cable and fittings. Another clean out project on the list.

RS, I did some shopping at Menards early yesterday. Shelves were full. Employees eager to help. Must be one of the reasons I like shopping there. Well maybe 11% helps. Be nice when it is back.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Ha. In the interest of science and curiosity...I wore mine for two days running and no there was no smell whatsoever.
Then I washed them and remembered to hang them up to dry. Wearing them again today, nice and soft and slightly cushy.
Should I chance it and go for three days? :D

tail end of this system going North will pass over in a few hours, likely bringing heavy rain and then clearing.

I used to have quite a collection of Christmas cd's, not sure they survived the move. Going to hunt them down this morning.
There might be a music channel on Comcast with xmas carols, need to check that too.

We have had an absolute deluge overnight, nearly 4” and still raining. My lake is back on the north side, about 100’ wide and goes from the road to the creek 600’ back. I’ve only had that twice before in 9 years. One of the heaviest bands is just moving in. All kinds of flood warnings.

More later I have to check on my outdoor kitties.

Good Morning. It’s 40 here and raining. 0.84 inches since it started yesterday.

Drew, 2 days is nothing, let us know after a week!

Geo install went well, but we didn’t get finished. Got it to where both units were running and providing heat, but return duct needs to be finished and things just tidied up in general.
The ProPress and its fittings was awesome. Very fast, and can be used on dripping pipes. They can be used with refrigerant and gas as well as water. They seal with an O ring like a shark bite, but are crimped onto the pipe.

While we were doing the ductwork, I made up a cover for my ballast box that’s filled with crushed stone to keep the water out as it’s stored outside. It came out pretty nice for an afterthought.

Today I’m planning on finishing up the Geo install, should only be a few hours left to go. Then I can go find some mischief in my shop.
