good morning all
chillier 31 out now, going up to mid 50's in nice sunshine.
Last nice day before storm comes in tomorrow, with over an inch of rain and high winds, gale warnings up along coast.

no joy with my new pin nailer yesterday, read the small fine print instructions, nails seemed to load properly, and gun fired, but no pins came out.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Could be the spring loader is not engaging and pushing nails all the way over to mechanism. I need someone else to try it.
At least the Makita air compressor was nice and quiet and easy to adjust to desired psi.

outside xmas lights only came on for about an hour before the solar rechargeable batteries died. Unfortunately front of house where lights are
doesn't get best afternoon sun and yesterday afternoon was pretty cloudy.

have no plans for today other than returning tupperware to my SIL in which all my holiday food came. Will return it with a birdfeeder.

Buppies, looks like you are in a very pretty spot there by the ocean. Nothing like walks on the beach.

Off to a soggy start. Hey, it's rainy season

Good morning, we are also off to a soggy start. Hey, it's always rainy season here.

Even so, had an enjoyable stroll up to the top pond with my wife and Max. She enjoys watching the hundreds of small fish race to nibble at small pieces of bread while Max also races around, searching out any bread crumbs that didn't quite make it into the water.

Radio is saying Darth Vader has died. The towering weight lifter turned actor David Prowse was in all sorts of other films. In this country he will be remembered too as the "Green Cross Man", a series of 2 minute public information films that ran for years in an attempt to get kids to pay attention to traffic when crossing the road. While he was on the dark side in Stars Wars, in real life he was just the opposite. David Prowse Star Wars Darth Vader Interview - YouTube

Coffee is brewing. 26° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 51° with mix of sun and clouds. Got my one project done yesterday. Plan to do something outside today. Just not sure what it will be.
Thought I better get a picture of tomorrows full moon today. Supposed to clouded over for next few days.

Buppies, great view.

Drew, I had similar problems with the HF pin nailer. Never figured it out. Returned it and bought a Porter Cable. Sorry solar tree is not staying on long.

Eric, Green Cross Code 1 video.

Kyle, took over 1 hour nap in the morning yesterday.

David, all I could get was about 6 months out of a flag. Then I started buying them on Amazon. Grace Alley is the brand name. Now they give me over a year. I replace them on Flag Day every year.

Prayer and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morninrg All.

34 right now...high in the mid-40's and sunny (per the forecast)
Only chore today is picking up some tires for my plant manager. He lives in Claremont NH, I'm 50 miles north in Bethel and the tires to pick up are about 30 miles north of me.
He's a good guy, and I'm happy do do it for him....he's very much an "Old School" manager who came up through the ranks. He'll be retiring the end of 2020...I think we'll all miss him.

Had a couple very tasty screwdrivers yesterday while watching "The Rock Horror Picture Show". 30-40 years ago, it'd have been a joint (or two)...times change

Sorry to read about Darth Vader (David Prowse). He did a lot of other characters in the 1960's British fantasy/sci-fi/horror genres. Can't complain...85 is a good long life

Good morning folks

26 now highs in the upper 40’s and sunny today. Will be a beautiful day to be outside and enjoy the sun.

Spent a little time yesterday cleaning out some more brush beside the driveway.
Took it nice and easy on the back.

No plans for today other than to be outside and putter around some more.

Enjoy your day everyone

31 and heavy frost looks white as snow. Clear skies hitting 59 later.

Was scheduled to go hike Rockytop but my plantars are irritated...might be the new lightweight hiking boots I bought. Will try them again today and see how they feel.

Buppies, sounds like great time at the beach. Have a safe trip home.

You guys have great dogs. We've never had one that gets on furniture (except a Lab that would sneak when we left the house and jump down when we drove up...but we'd find hair...and one time she was so sound asleep we walked up on her. Boy did she look guilty.

We worked on our outside decorations and lights yesterday...earliest we've ever put them up...then while my wife fine tuned and rearranged a few things, I took a load to the dump and picked up some gas and diesel, and then scraped the underside of the deck on the zero...that stuff had hardened to concrete. We finished at sunset and admired the lights and moonrise...Ron your photo sure looks like a full moon.

Eric, are they building that new neighborhood near you? Will it be close to your pond?

Probably will roast today and take a short hike around here and then see what needs getting prepped before the rain comes tonight.

Good Morning!!!! 44F @ 4:15AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 63F. Winds light and variable.
No rain yet in the 10-day forecast, mostly sunny with temps in mid 60s for highs and low 40s for lows. Nice weather, but we really, really need rain.

I'd call that a full moon, Ron, nice shot. The deer here have been herding up, had about a dozen working on the tender grass shoots starting to sprout.

Dftodd, your second try worked just fine on this end...

Some lessons we just have to keep re-learning, Ted.:(

Seems like if you had leaks in the old shower pan, RS, you'd be seeing water stains on the ceiling of the room below. I'd be tempted to just re-use the old pan, and use some rust converter on that steel flange, then give it several coats of some kind of rubberizing paint. Then from there you can go with a vapor barrier and green board.

Lucas vs. Bosch, I've lots of good experience with one, lots of bad with "The Prince of Darkness" Lucas, Kyle!

Glad you're working under adequate supervision, David. Beautiful flag photo!

Not much better than havin' the right tool for the job, eh Paul?

How's the real estate market in your area, Drew? Usually it slows to a crawl during the holidaze, but with lots of folks bailing on the big city, maybe not this year? But if that place you're interested in sits a while on the market, maybe you'll bet a better deal...

Finished up the wiring on the new alternator on the white bike, and with the battery reconnected, reset the static timing. Really liking the new trigger unit; it has an LED on it that toggles on/off with the position of the window in the optical shutter. And it's just a couple of tiny set screws holding it in place, so it's easy to adjust.

Got the four new solar panels installed, too. Didn't take long, either, after all the previous practice. Now I need to round up some short cables to tie them in to the rest of the array. The ones the contractor supplied are way too long, so I think I see yet another crimp kit in my immediate future. Also found a couple of MC-4 fittings that were installed without their waterproof seals, so I'll be able to fix those, too. Just goes to prove the old saying: If you want something done right, you need to do it yourself!:irked:

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the long weekend!

Good morning. 33 here going to middle 50’s with clear skies. Tomorrow is gonna different, big winds and rain.

Weather in Hilton Head was lousy yesterday, rain, low ceilings and visibility. The trip pretty much killed my day,but I did install a connector for a battery minder on the L6060.

Hopefully I’ll find something productive to do today.

Drew you’re welcome to stop by with your pin nailer and see if we can make it work. I’ve got a good selection or 23ga nails to try.

Going to be an interesting week.

Today is an energy conservation day.
