Yes UAL laid off 2000 guys from technical ops. So that is aircraft mechs, gse mechs, facility maint etc.

That totally sucks. How many aircraft mechanics does UAL have? What senority number are you? I was like 144 out of around 1300 mechanics.

Somewhere about 1450 out of 7500 I think and thats with my 1987 hire year. The actual number of A&P is hard to come by exactly, I dont know if the list is up to date and such. There may be 6000 licensed mechs. Theres a lot of other job titles that may be in the same list. I think my 33 years there puts me in the top 20%.

I got my fan blade plaque back after presenting it to me with my name misspelled.

While waiting for my name to be spelled right on the plaque, I was busy putting in a concrete pad for the deck's ramp. I got it painted today. Gonna start on hand rails tomorrow.
