Lots of shelves empty.... the hoarders must be at it again!

I have read a couple of different places that it might be smart to have a couple of weeks supplies on hand in case things get rough in the coming months. When that notion starts to circulate the shelves are going to get empty.

The wildfires out here have made me into something of a prepper, as the authorities won't let you come back to your property if you leave until evacuation orders are lifted. So I plan to stay, and that can last as long as six weeks. But now, the dooms day predictions are focused on expanded political unrest, depending on the outcome of the election. And that's a sad comment on today's state of affairs.

I thought you were a bass player, Paul. That one looks like it has a couple of extra strings?:confused3::laughing:

I am indeed a bass player by trade, since 1982. I also play guitar, drums, piano, organ, violin, viola, cello, contra bass, trumpet, trombone, recorder, shakuhachi, and I sing.

And, my main electric bass is a 6-string extended range bass.

I've been reading and hearing about Walmart removing all guns and ammo from their store shelves and securing them in back in preparation for possible rioting and looting after the elections. I found myself wondering this morning what country I live in now. :confused3: Sad, indeed.

the office was already swamped, no one honoring the CV19 distancing requirements

When my wife went to the doctor's last week there were 6 in the waiting room. She asked them to call her when they were ready for her and went out and sat in her car. I would have thought medical offices would know how to manage this stuff but it sounds like it is business as usual. I have heard of one business modifying their heating and air conditioning system to make it safer but i imagine that most places don't want to spend the money.:confused3:

I also worry about the epidemic. It doesn't look like we have peaked yet and I'm not sure there is anything we can do about it except try to keep ourselves safe.

44F and cloudy @ 13:30 ... lightened up a little bit ago but then got darker again, with the winds picking up and blowing hard. The leaves are mostly down at this point, save for the oaks. Dark to the west, some showers in the area.

Got more gluing done on boards last night, also BLO applied on some areas. Will start putting squirrel feeders together today.

Need to run to Menards and TSC to pick up orders, also swing by NAPA to pick up anti-freeze for Sprinter.

Also refill nugget and one suet feeder, figure out why bottom of nugget feeder keeps coming off.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

With good reason ...

If one sees people not wearing masks when or where they should be, one can always say something.

Same goes for business establishments not enforcing mask requirements within their facilities ... ;)

I don't think you can really count on everybody wearing masks. A better solution is to get a better mask that protects you. Good masks are starting to become available.
