55 and heavy fog again. Going to 76.

Roy, congrats on a real nice looking tractor, and beautiful place you have.

Ron, we went to the mountains yesterday and the colors were nice, but nothing as beautiful as your road. We hiked up to the Calvary and Chimney Rocks and talked with some interesting folks.

RNG, one couple parked a bright red (white top) '71 VW camper next to us...the gut was from London, and the lady from Minnesota...they had been traveling and driving the camper on 3 continents as they worked in different restaurants and hotels. He showed me the inside with the two burner, sink, potty and bed setup. They had been living in it for 5 solid weeks on their way to Florida from Minnesota. I asked if he had put a Subaru engine in it, and he said, no, he had thought about it, but it was on its 6th VW engine (I forget whether he said 1.7 or 1.9L). Said he only could go about 25mph up the mountain, using 2nd gear.

Also talked with a fireman sitting in the most modified Tacoma I've seen...real nice job on it. Turns out he lives near our son on Long Island, NY...he had a golden doodle puppy in his lap that he and his girlfriend had just picked up that day. Named it Ember (he's a fireman). Cool puppy. They have one of those tents that sits on the top of the truck bed and folds out for sleeping...he really likes it...can still use the bed underneath for carrying stuff.

80˚F at 8PM.

Kyle is that Steiner going to be like someone's van? A source of entertainment for years!:D. Looking forward to see if we can get it running.

Rick your pic reminds me why I looked like mud after mowing without a cab.

Roy I think you are ready for the snow. Do the cabs also have AC up North?

Today started off pretty bad with breaking my tooth on a banana and e-muffin this morning and then I found out that all the mulch I put around the greenhouse was supposed to be compost.

BUT the dentist was in and put on a temporary crown and I was eating lunch by noon. I got an abundance of exercise and tractor time loading the FEL by hand, funny I dumped 7 buckets but it took 14 to remove the mulch - lots of quality tractor time - not too bad of a day. My parts even came in for the Honda tiller and it's now fixed with new lines and filters.

Loading-er-up.

Don, it can't be like the van, because I can't afford to pay someone to bungle it up. If the motor is toast, or a main transmission component is wiped out, it will be a wait and see. I've seen similar 230's (that run) go for $3500

sorry about the tooth. Hard muffin? I broke loose a crown once, eating my ex-MIL's thanksgiving day dressing. The hard crusty part that was outside the turkey. Ooops.

:cool2:65 degrees for a low temperature today and going for a high of 67 according to the NWS. But the best news is that it started raining at 7 a.m. for the first rain in exactly one month and one day.:cool2:

Good Morning!!!! 64 @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 81F. Winds light and variable.
The Red Flag Warning expired last night, but firefighters were busy again with three call outs, one on the north side of Oroville again that resulted in a brief evacuation for nearby residents. It was held to 10 acres, while the other two were much smaller. No word yet on the causes, but almost all of them so far have been caused by people doing things they shouldn't have been doing.
Power is still off but will likely be restored once the copters have had a chance to fly the lines. The next shutoff is shaping up for sometime Sunday, a stronger system that will likely last into Tuesday.

Fall is putting on quite the show for you this year, Ron. Thanks for sharing!

It's good to screw up once in a while, Don, if for no other reason than to remind folks that nobody's perfect.

Glad you got some help, Drew, and best of luck at the DMV. A while back a buddy of mine gave me a couple KN95 masks, and after a little googling, I learned that there is a lot of variation in quality. There was one website put up by a university that listed test results for a large number of masks, many of which failed the N95 standard used here in the USA. The gifted ones looked like they are among the failures, so they sit here unused.

Lost a couple hours yesterday morning to YouTube watching wet blaster videos, RS. Seems like lots of home brew setups out there, but the same basic problems remain of keeping the grit out of areas where it doesn't belong, and removing metal plating from parts that need it. Dry blasting with ultra fine media will produce the same finish as the wet blasters with a lot less trouble.

Had to google Steiner 230, Kyle, and as usual, there were lots of references here on TBN. Here's hoping you found a diamond in the rough!

Did some straightening up in the garage yesterday, uncovering some bench space but not enough. So more of that today. FedEx is supposed to show up with more security cams, enough to have one watching each side of the house. Not sure I'll get a start on mounting them, though, as all will need wires run up in the attic and it's still gets hot up there early in the day. The fairing I purchased for the white bike needs some repairs, so I'll probably get it cleaned up and get out the fiberglass to make a start on that.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Good morning all, 58 going up to 72 and cloudy/misty , leaves are more than 1/2 down already-wish it would dry out so I can move them around.
Another day of long day job hours so not much got done outside again

Roy- that is one fine looking tractor, congrats, it looks well worth the weight
TXDon - mulch/compost - that must have been one unripe banana -
Mostly - Gopher hunter success!
RS-sounds like you took it easy yesterday-not!
Drew - good luck at DMV - third times a charm??
Kyle - Steiner - looks backwards :) - pretty neat little tractor-can't wait to see pictures and hear about your success in getting it going.

Be safe and stay well

Roy, congrats on tractor. Nice you have inching feature, you must have the loaded R model. I almost bought that before I bought my Kubota, but JD dealer was awful and far way while Kubota was close and a great dealer. Both were comparable tractors, am sure you are going to love the cab, staying warm and dry. Let it snow!

yes Ken, third time had better be the charm. What is almost humorous is I'm the last person they need to worry about. ;)
This reminds me to get my passport renewed in near future, I let that lapse. Now this is strange, went online to confirm
Flemington NJ passport office, now it says no passport offices in PA, NJ, NY or Delaware. Wonder how that is possible...
Perhaps I can accomplish this online with Real ID or at local court house.

Got down to 57 headed to 76 if this fog clears. I’m in Easton this morning, about an hour from home, Ellen has an appointment to excise a mole behind her ear that’s basil cell carcinoma. Not sure how long that will take. The doggie and I are waiting outside.

I use a combination of Gunk and kerosene in my parts washer, I clean the filter regularly, I only clean the sludge out of the bottom about every six months, but I don’t use it too much anymore.
My arm is still bleeding, I’ve got a call in to the doctor to see what I can do. Good old Eliquis is good at its job, preventing clotting.

Roy you will love the hydro after a couple of uses, especially for loader work.
