Well built is an under statement, looks like removable sides which is good. Wonder if you wish you made it bigger or is that planned on the next one...........
What the heck, I'll do one more update on my bridge project, since I got her operational yesterday. Was satisfying to go re-open all my trails on the other side and cruise around the woods. Probably pissed off some poaching bow hunters on adjacent parcels, but they can pound sand.
Oh and yes OldPath, decking is recycled 2x6 treated lumber. My folks got sick of refinishing their deck every few years and hired a crew to replace with trex, so I salvaged it. The wood is pretty solid but we'll see how many years I get out of it. I'm going to paint it all brown again if I can get another warm dry day soon.
Decking complete, with backfill on far side:

If I was you I wouldn't wait to buy a new saw with flip caps, just do the gg trick or you could just by only the flip caps..........I guess I've been lucky so far. I've never owned a saw that did that.
My oil soaked pants have all been due to "operator malfunction". However, you may have convinced me to give flippy caps another try. If everyone else likes them so much, they may be worth trying out ... now I just need to wait for my next saw to die beyond reasonable repair. I keep thinking my 357XP that will be the next one to go, but so far the worst repair it's needed was the ignition coil. If it does die, it would give me a great excuse to get a Stihl MS362 or a Husqvarna 562XP.

That is one great looking bridge, Deezler!
I need to do something similar on a 60 Acre parcel I just bought earlier this year to the north of my original property. Both properties are bisected north to south by a wetland/seasonal stream. The only solid crossing is on an unmaintained town road all the way on my south border. A neighbor scouted out the narrowest spot on the new northern parcel.
My forester calculated that I'd need a 48" culvert to meet the current state regulations. (Never mind that another culvert further downstream is only 30" and has never been more than half full, even in our worst storms.) I'm not going to do that, since I don't want to have to build things up enough to cover a 48" culvert. Instead, I'll probably go with a bridge. The calculations there are a minimum 6 ft span and 2.5 ft above the high water mark: still WAY overkill, but that's what it takes to keep the state off my back. I'm kind of wishing I hadn't asked, put something in, and just claimed it was there when I bought the property.
It must come in handy at times and you have a cement block on it for ballast, might need another one for FEL work. But wheres the vice to hold saw for sharpening......
Ah yes the ole slot in the box trick:thumbsup:That block is not normally on there musta just been carrying it somewhere. The vice for sharpening my chainsaws is in the garage, normally don't need to sharpen them out in the field, but just in case I do keep files on the tractor and if you will notice on both sides of that carryall towards the back there is a slot cut on each side I can rest my bar in to sharpen it.
