Now you got the wood neeeeeeer the house, how does it stay dry? Your 550xp a flip cap edition?
Oh boy fresh tomatoes for spaghettis sauce!!!!!!!!!
Once it gets within weeks of use of that box of firewood, I put a small freebie HF tarp over it. The way the boxes are designed if it rains, the water runs off, and the top wood dries pretty fast, because of the good air flow through boxes.

The wood sits in the basement a while before use too...

My 550 has the flippy caps, I like them, they work great!!

Is everything at HF always on clearance? They have the Lynxx listed right now for 189.97. Is the battery detachable, or do you charge it in place?

I paid $154 on sale in the spring. $190 seems steep to me. I would look at the Stihl at that price.

The battery is detachable.

I like the Husqvarna flippy caps better than the Stihl ones (at least better than the early Stihl ones. I haven't looked to see if they've changed them after all the complaints when they first came out.)

I have to admit, I like the old screw-in caps the best. Flippy caps were a solution in search of a problem, IMO.

I liked the flippy caps on my 545. For some reason caps always turn off a lot harder than they went on.

I think the Husky flippy caps are a pretty good upgrade... I don't see any down side to them at all...

I wish my Jonsered had them, but not enough to buy a set. lol

Stihl had a recall on the flip caps and replaced them with a new design that works fine.

An older friend of mine told me 20 years ago when he went for a plane ride around the country, the one thing that he noticed the most up there was tarps, I can believe it...

I concur new Husqvarna caps are great, they wasn't on my first 550xp, I like them so much I spent $20.00 for another set for my Echo. The problem is Husky caps seal from the side, Echo seals from underneath cap and down so I had to red neck another flat O ring on Husky oil cap and that wasn't easy, the gas cap just barley seals. Corse all I went by is trying the caps from my 550xp to see if they screwed in, I didn't think about the seal part,

Yes and the problem was I always needed a wrench to get them old non FLIPPING caps off especially the the oil caps, But now the flip caps finally came along after what 80 years of making chainsaws, which means I dont need a wrench to get caps off anymore which means I dont have to remember which pocket I put the wrench in. My son has 2 new Stihl saws with flip caps, IMO Huskys are better but time will tell...........

Over the years I have used many ways to store firewood, sheds, under the overhang on the bank barn, rows, piles, various tractor pick up pallets etc. One of the ways I use today is two luggage airline carts from American Airlines loaded full with firewood. Hold I think close to two cords each and they hook together as a wagon train so I can haul them up to the house with my tractor or pickup truck and leave them in a convenient place for the season.

It's always interesting to see different ways people do things. It seems like somebody always comes up with a new method.
