Well no firewood cutting today, wife draged me out to get flipping suit, there goes a $100.00 flipping dollars and I DONT WARE SUITS, just dont tell her that. The guy out there what color you want, I dont care ask her I'm just here, stand this way, hold arms that way, face this direction, my wife did all the talking, to him and my daughter on the phone at same time. She's the only one I know of that back in the day could walk around the house carrying on a conversation with people and have a phone on both ears talking to her daughters all at the same time, but now it cell phone chat room....

So when I got back in afternoon son was waiting for help with sawmill add-on, needed a couple more timbers and wanted getting another beam up, when I want a 6x6 I try not to cut a 12" log and try to find something that should be cut down.

Worked for me this time. You're cutting a 6x6 out of that little pine? I don't think that I've really watched your videos around the sawmill before, I'm envious.

The pine was about 12-14" on but then we went 10' up and took the middle out for a 6x8x10, pretty much just slab it an wah la but still got one nice 8" board, the but log might just go into some nice boarding boards as appose to OSB and didn't that pine smell nice sawing it. We also did a popple just before that, that didn't smell so nice, that went into a 6x6x10 and that one was cut down non to soon to another year might of been it and it was only 10" on stump, that's tomorrows video episode........

Actually Oregon and Washington are largely red square mile wise. Trouble is the population base on both is centered in ~3 blue counties. Please forgive us. Back to the topic of the thread....

 . . .

Yesterday was busy, to busy for someone that dont like to stay busy, Now the big and last lift, I was a little nervous with 10k lbs on the ends of my folks and with height getting maxed out again, but I got it up there then my son had to use a pinch bar to get it in place.

Nice work! Might be overestimating the weight of that beam some. So what fastener do you use to connect that beam to the top of those posts?

You are giving me ideas for putting a roof over my mill. Is that beam green/wet?

Your wife told me you WANT one of those, but you don't actually NEED one...

I agree, as there's plenty of ways to cut beams accurately without one. lol

Unless your on FB my wife ain't talking to ya.......Circular goes 2-7/16 deep so on 6" thick have to use saws-all for middle, but on the diagonal splice the saws-all didn't like it, my son had to chain saw it then smooth out-ish with hand plane, on cross cuts the saws-all is ok but not diagonals. I wonder how those who build log cabins cut timbers.......
