Good morning!!!!

43*°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 62° today. Some rain clouds headed our way, and some have already been popping up nearby this morning. I'm definitely OK with this.

Day 1 of vacation turned into a bigtime "energy conservation day" for me. I even took two naps. So far, so good.

We were having a tough time with groudhogs in and around the barn for a long time. Since we put a radio in there a couple years ago and leave it on a talk radio station, we haven't seen a single one.

Keep counting, Phil. You're almost there.

Good to read Mike is back here again.

Gopher moved stone then pushed dirt back out, wife saw gopher :groundhog:. Got 1 ft square concrete step then washed dirt back down hole, covered with step then stone.:punch:

Mostly .. Your hole problem sounds more like armadillos .. than gophers?

Now Rick, are you saying his Wife cannot tell the difference between a gopher and an armadillo?:D

The last picking of okra from the summer garden is now flash boiled, cut breaded and frozen.

51F and "fair" @ 11:00, partly to mostly cloudy for the day and heading up to a high of 59F.

Lawn is getting to the point where it needs mowed again but will probably hold off for a few more days when it is warmer and drier.

Probably gather up some tools and start woodburner up in shop to get it warmed up, then start working on cleaning up hubs and bearings for debris blower. Remove what's left of existing deflector and see if I have enough suitable sheet metal to fab up a new deflector.

While a deflector that would ride on linear bearings would be slick, probably just simpler to make it a hinge and use a hydraulic cylinder to raise and lower it ... ;)

May get around to hanging some Irish Spring and other outside activities later after it warms up.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Boy! Just realized I put today's Good Morning post in the wrong forum!! No wonder I couldn't find it! (went into the pictures of your snow weapons thread).

Anyway, dump run is done...too wet to do any leaf blowing...should be OK tomorrow though.
Did go to the Deere dealer and put a down payment on the 4052. His eyes kinda bugged out when he saw the 2.5"-3" piles of 100's, 50's and 20's ($15K total) The tractor will be delivered in a couple weeks since it's coming from a sister dealer in Fulton NY. I'll post pictures when the tractor is delivered

Not too bad now, but it was a cold clammy night as a result of the low temperatures and rain we got yesterday. Clammy enough where I got my fall pajamas on...

Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 9:15AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. Areas of smoke and haze are possible, reducing visibility at times. High 94F. Winds light and variable.
AQI 72 and 168, inside and out. The fire continues to creep northeast, still don't understand why they just don't put it out. Highway 70 remains closed as trees and boulders roll onto it from where the fire is burning. Lots of unhappy people up that way having to make a really long detour to get where they're going. Forest Service isn't winning any popularity contests.

Pushed dirt back in gopher hole with hose then put 5 lb stone on top of hole. Gopher moved stone then pushed dirt back out, wife saw gopher :groundhog:. Got 1 ft square concrete step then washed dirt back down hole, covered with step then stone.:punch: Next step is propane in the hole.

Don't forget to video the propane, OK Bruce?

Good to hear from you again, Mike, and hope things start going your way again...

Replaced most of the vacuum lines on the van with new silicone tubing, and replaced the Back Pressure Regulator in the process. Once warmed up, the EGR started working, so it's all set for a smog retest next week.

Got word that the tooth bar, wheel spacers, and top'n'tilt valve have all shipped, so it's the tractor's turn for some work next week. Might even wash and wax it; that would be your fault if it gets done, Ted.

Neighbor dropped by with a piece of drill rod he bought to replace a shaft on his grandfather's saw mill. Needed a couple of key ways cut, so I took care of that for him. He wanted to pay me for the work, but I just told him to start keeping track of the hours and he can help me out next time I need it. I also had to tell him I lost one of the keys; spent an hour looking for it, but he said the GF has a drawer full of 'em. Can't imagine where that key got to, but sure enough it'll show up next time I'm looking for something else.:mur: Think I'll drop by his place today and get a look at that mill. He told me it has three giant circular blades on it, so it sounds like quite the contraption...

The new alternator got here yesterday, too, so that's on the agenda for today, too.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

Well, I got the front yard cut and promptly got myself a huge rock on the side of the driveway. Bent a blade. :(
No more grass cutting until I replace the blade on Monday.

Energy conservation for the rest of the day.

Tomorrow morning about 7 I am leaving to go to the junk yard. After hitting 2 bank machines and hooking up my wagons and a circle check it should be about 8 A.M. or a little after.

Congrats on the new tractor, Roy. Seems you'll only have to rearrange the numbers on your profile list.

Hope you get it before you need it.
