Fried has been my goto for awhile now. Sliced into 6-8 slices, I eat 2, wife 1, dogs get rest. My friend Wylee that would visit before moving to Az loved spam but his wife wouldn’t buy it, so most times when they might spend the night I’d make us spam and eggs for breakfast.
Don’t remember last time I had a cold spam sandwich, mayo, lettuce & tomato,, mmmmmm

Dogs can get sodium ion poisoning from Spam.

Back from helping my friend, John. Boy what a windfall! Color me a bit envious. A local friend died very unexpectedly last Nov from blood clots in legs. His wife has decided to move back to CA to be near daughter, bought a house and getting ready to sell this one so is cleaning out. Probably impolite of me to ask, but curiosity, he paid $500 and got at least $2k in just the quality stuff I saw, top line Craftsman wrench, socket, screw driver sets, Craftsman 2 level cabinet with the drawers chalk full, almost new pressure washer, air compressor, just to mention the major stuff.

Earlier I got another series of email, text, and telephone notices from PG&E that they'd issued a Weather All Clear and had started a round of power line inspections prior to restoring grid power. I'd heard the 'copters on the other side of the canyon this morning, and just now it was my line's turn. Funny juxtaposition of two very different hovering machines. I put another hour and a half on the generator cooling the house down earlier this morning before the sun was up, but otherwise I haven't even noticed absence of grid power...

The fire to the north that has everyone so worried is continuing to spread west, but that should slow as the winds die down this evening and overnight. Winds are in the 10-15MPH range now, but haven't gusted as much as earlier this morning, and temps have crested into the 100F range, so it'll continue to be touch'n'go for the firefighters. The Forest Service, who is running this northern part of the fire, has twice now allowed it to escape their containment lines and ravage the eastern parts of Butte County. CalFire has lent them equipment and personnel, and it still hasn't been enough to get the job done. This evening it will very likely reach the Feather River Canyon very near Pulga and Camp Creek where the 2018 Camp Fire started. I sure hope they can stop it there. Gonna be another long night.

Been napping on and off most of the day, but did manage to get a new alternator for the van ordered. Five days to build it, then a week or so for shipping. Hope they can get it in the box and outta there quicker than the o'scope folks; took them more than a week and I just got that tracking info today.

We are getting some rain for the first time in a while. It is needed. Supposed to cool off for the next week or so.

The washer (front loader) has been misbehaving. Slow to fill, poor agitation, does not really spin dry very well. Did some searching online and everything pointed to needing a belt and the strainer cleaned. Knowing our water, order new water inlet filters. Difference between new and old belt was dramatic. New belt was tough to get installed. Inlet filters were a good call. Then I took the front cover off to access the strainer. Probably solved the coin shortage! All the Missing coins were in the strainer. Washer is now working like it should.

Then the trim piece that came off the wife痴 Mini showed up. Got it installed. She was actually happy with the progress today.

The freezer on the other hand seems to have decided to give it up. Caught it yesterday that it was warm. Knew someone who has a spare for his hides from trapping. Got everything moved, didn稚 lose anything. New freezers are thin on the ground. Going to have to order one and wait a couple of weeks.

We like scrapple (called krepples locally). Not something I would want every day, but a nice change for breakfast once in a while. I prefer it with real maple syrup on it.

Everyone stay safe out there!

69F and steadily raining.

Brief shower shortly after I posted this morning. Another one around 17:00.

Took measurement over at pole barn and house: 14' and 16' to gutters, respectively.

Got order for 24' aluminum ladder, stabilizer, and 2 cu. ft. of potting soil (she wants the good stuff ... lol) placed with Menards. Order is now ready for pick up.

Screened some soil and then hauled down 5 bucketloads for behind west planting bed and got it mostly spread/raked out. Hauled up debris to compost pile.

The Woman took the hedge trimmer to the forsythia, got that about 1/2 pruned. I hauled the trimmings up to the burn pile.

Then she had me set her up with the FS 66 and she did some trimming around back.

I hauled up several bucketloads of excavation spoil from the culvert crossing to be screened.

Drilled holes for four dozen daffodil bulbs The Woman was given, she got them planted.

Knocked off around 17:00 and came in, sat down on couch ... promptly fell asleep ...

About to jump in the shower, debating on running down to Menards after that.

Hope everyone had a great day.

68 right now...high in the mid-70's today

Well, sold the 4520...no complaints about the deal and I got all cash.
Thanks to another TBN member (you know who you are!), I got invaluable information about the Kioti I was looking at. Turns out, it's not a 2011 model...it's a 2001 model. Don't think the seller was trying to rip me off...good chance he got ripped off when he bought the machine a year ago.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do...other then keep looking.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Will the seller come down on price?

supposed to be best fall color in years here peaks around second week of October

when I drive North from VA end of next week, will be going up 81 to PA turnpike and then heading East.
Am hoping the colors will be out and it will be a pretty drive
going this direction takes half an hour longer than going up 95, well worth it to me
Google Maps

I would head up thru Frederick, rt 15 to Gettysburg, then route 30 to Lancaster. Most is 4 lanes but not interstate.
Although I came up I81 last night as far as winchester and traffic was light for a Sunday.
