Wow the ignorance and lack of humilty to admit to the need to slow down virus with masks etc......will be the downfall of the once great America. I say this from the Canadian side of the border where we have less than 800 cases reported most days for the whole country of 32 million people. Here masks have not been politicised we just trust the experts. We see how immunity is not likely after you get it , after a few months you can get again. So vaccine is what we wait for and use prevention as key. Yes some risks need to be taken like essential commerce and global trade but thinking it won't hurt me and not caring about your coworker or elderly neighbor at grocery store is ignorance and greed. When its all over 2 yrs or more from now and millions in USA dead how will you feel about skipping that simple mask ? Sadly I see our once great country neighbor of the USA going totally wrong on this.

Some of the comments on here are a perfect explanation for why the US has the highest number of cases in the World, and the 4th highest per capita death rate. The top 3 countries have things under control. We continue to spiral out of control. It's just a matter of time until we become number one in per capita deaths.

But hey, let's just continue to pretend like there's no problem, and scream "live free or die", as we drive down roads with speed limits, while wearing seatbelts, on our way to restaurants and grocery stores where we benefit from a government that has imposed limits on things like how to drive to protect ourselves and others, and how food has to be handled and prepared to keep us safe

But wearing a mask during a global pandemic to prevent the spread of diseass? No, that's where we draw the line. How dare we be inconvenienced?

Plus, we can learn more in 30 seconds from Facebook or google, usually in the form of easily digestible pithy memes, than any scientist or medical expert learned in their years of education.

Speaking of, how dare the government insist we be educated for at least 12 years!! We resent that.

I have seen many data plots that show an arrow to mark the date when mask mandates were imposed with NO positive resulting change in cases etc.

How would one accept the effectiveness of mask usage with such contradicting evidence. It doesn't make sense to me...

Bluntly, in the early days, grocery store workers were not masked (Fauci said to save the masks for hospital workers, iirc) Why aren't all the grocery store workers dead?

I keep fire extinguishers in my house, truck, and tractor although I hope that I never need them. When I take my boat out I carry/wear life jackets, although I don't intend to sink the boat. When running my chainsaw I wear chaps, hard hat, and safety glasses although I hope that I never need them.
