Good evening! Was in Giddings today so i got a haircut. Maybe the clippers will be back in stock by the next time.

Caution EGO owners
My warranty claim on an EGO battery that only lasted 13 months of the three year warranty was NOT honored by EGO because the amazon seller I bought the replacement battery from was not an authorized seller.

Wonder if it is real or counterfeit?

Got to 84 and heat index of 92, it was hot mowing grass! It’s still very dusty here, we had rain but days of 20-40 mph winds dried it up in a hurry.

I timed my mowing so I could watch the launch that wasn’t. Oh well, maybe Saturday.

We have what appears to be a dog pooping in the new stone garden and Ellen is pissed. Scat is wrong for a fox or coyote but it’s happening overnight, twice so far. Going to put one of the cameras up here and see what we see.

I’m covered in dust so off to the shower before dinner.
Have a good one.

Well that adventure went about as well as might be expected ...

Tried tapping the spanner wrench in and definitely a no-go ...

Hunted up a 3/16 drill bit and used it to kiss the end of hole ... just to see how much bigger the 3/16 pin was than the hole: turns out ... quite a bit ...

Then I dug up a 5/32 bit to see if it would fit in the hole.

Yup, no problem.

Soooo ... it turns out the next size down wrench McMaster offers uses 1/8" pins (not 5/32) ... and only has a range up to a 2" diameter cylinder (these are just slightly larger OD - probably a metric thing)

Fortunately, I can order up to 18:15 (Mon-Thu) and still get it next day from the local McMaster warehouse for normal shipping rates ... and they had it in stock.

Could have picked up a similar tool (Proto brand) from the local Grainger (which is much closer) for a little less money overall, if I wanted to dick around with driving over there (probably about 12 miles one way)

Nah, I'll pass ...

Lesson learned:

Probably wanna take a little more care on determining the actual hole diameter ... rather just assuming that what I think it is, is what it actually is ...

Now if I can only remember it ...

The gland end could have handled being drilled out that bit most likely.
Good luck with it, I had to make a gland wrench for a Dynahoe cylinder that hadn't been unscrewed since it was built in the 60's, drill rod and half inch flat stock with a 6 foot handle and it still took some sledge hammer persuasion.
